Gav is a very patient and experienced teacher, he took me on as a student (I had already got nearly 13 years playing experience myself) and has been nothing but helpful in widening my understanding and knowledge of the instrument and how to apply things that I’ve wanted to for years. I can’t speak for a beginner but Gav tailored my lessons to suit what I wanted to learn and get out of the guitar rather than put me back to the absolute basics. I have approached Gav as I wanted to progress with my guitar playing and understand what I was playing. Gav is an amazing dedicated teacher that will go that extra mile for the sake of his students. To start he is very engaging and easy to talk to and down to earth, he’s is as good a listener as he is a teacher and will teach you topic specific stuff to subjects or genres you are interested in. He has a seemingly never ending supply of high quality easy to follow guitar exercises and music theory sheets. After being stuck in a rut for many years with my playing, I finally decided it was time to get lessons again. I’m so glad I did! I think I’ve only had 4 or 5 hours so far with Gav and I know I’m improving and becoming more confident in stepping forward. Even if you can play (which I can) there is always so much more you can learn by being taught. And as Gav gives you homework - you have to play more in your spare time to learn what you’ve been set, it’s a great incentive. I quickly learned my thumb was always to high, and after having it pointed out (within around 5 mins of my first lesson!) I’ve adapted and it’s made my playing smoother. He has the patience of a saint and gives off a very relaxed, friendly vibe which makes you settle in quickly. Couldn’t recommend enough. Thanks Gav! More...

Yes 100% I would recommend it. My son is having lessons for the last 3 month and he is loving it. Great feedback from the tutor nearly every time after a lesson. A reminder about the next lesson get send to us at least 4 days before the lesson.
