Paula Taras
BSc Traditional Chinese Medicine
Member of The British Acupuncture Council
I have over 15 years of clinical experience in Acupuncture and studied (Traditional Chinese Medicine) for 6 years to obtain degree level. I also attended an intensive Acupuncture training course at Guiyang Hospital in China and then later won a scholarship to study again in China.
As well as having extensive experience in treating acute and chronic physical and mental/emotional problems with both adults and children, I have specialised training in Facial Revitalisation Acupuncture, Tai Qi and Qi Gong and advanced Synergistic Energy Healing techniques. When appropriate to the treatment, I incorporate bodywork, cupping, moxibustion, gua sha, blood letting, heat therapy and energy healing techniques into my acupuncture treatments as I feel this strengthens and magnifies both the experience and the outcome.
Practicing Acupuncture is my passion. I love my job and I am continuously in awe of the results that are achieved in clinic. I really enjoy meeting and helping the varied types of people who pass through the clinic and feel honoured to be in a position to offer advice and healing to and with them.

What is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is a life changing, safe and evidence based therapy used the world-over. Originating from China, this ancient practise has stood the test of time and also evolved to keep up with modern medicine. It is now used to treat an array of disorders of the body and mind.
We are energetic beings - it is the energy (or Qi) that runs through our bodies that makes our hearts beat, our minds think straight and everything work in the miraculous way it does! Similarly, if the energy isn't flowing well it can lead to all kinds of physical, mental and emotional problems. This is why Acupuncture can sometimes seem like magic - we correct the flow of the Qi in our bodies, everything works better and we start to heal from the inside out.
It is wonderful and it is my passion, and I hope to share this and help as many people as possible. Please do get in touch to ask me any questions.
