What do you love most about your job?
Making a Difference in People’s Lives – Knowing that the care we provide helps people maintain their independence and dignity at home would be incredibly fulfilling. Seeing the positive impact on clients and their families would make the work meaningful.
Building Relationships – Working closely with both clients and caregivers would create strong bonds. Getting to know individuals on a personal level and tailoring care to their unique needs would make each day feel special.
Empowering and Supporting Staff – Developing a team of compassionate caregivers, mentoring them, and watching them grow in their roles would be a huge source of pride. A happy and motivated team means better care for clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The reasons why I was inspired to start my own business include:
1. Passion for Quality Care:
I started my own domiciliary care business because I genuinely care about improving the quality of care for vulnerable individuals. Having worked in the sector, I have firsthand experience of how services can sometimes be rushed, impersonal, or not tailored to individual needs.
2. Personal Experience
I have personal experience with a loved one who needed domiciliary care. Seeing the good, as well as the bad aspects of care provision strongly motivated me to create a service that truly makes a difference.
3. Desire for More Control & Better Standards
Working under someone else’s management did not give me the opportunity I was eager to have to make improvements, especially in the areas where I believe care should be delivered differently. Starting my agency gives me the power to implement best practices, focus on person-centred care, and set higher standards.
4. Filling a Gap in the Market
I noticed that certain areas were underserved, or specific needs (e.g., dementia care, palliative care, cultural/language-specific care) were not adequately met. This creates an opportunity to launch a business that provides specialized, high-quality services.
5. Financial & Career Growth
There was an urge for me to grow professionally and financially. Running my domiciliary care agency will allow me to build a sustainable business while making a positive impact in my community.
6. Flexible Working & Autonomy
Being my own boss will enable me to set the direction of the business, choose my team, and establish policies that align with my values. It will also offer me more flexibility in managing my work-life balance.
7. Impact on the Community
I desired to join the team of Domiciliary care businesses that serve local communities, allowing entrepreneurs to contribute positively to society by helping people maintain independence and dignity in their own homes.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
As a domiciliary care provider, ensuring the safety of clients against COVID-19 or any related outbreak requires several key infection prevention/control practices and adaptations.
Key measures include:
Infection Control & Prevention
1. Increased PPE Usage – Care workers are required to wear face masks, gloves, aprons, and eye protection where necessary.
2. Enhanced Hygiene Practices – Frequent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers are made mandatory before and after each client visit.
3. Covid-19 Testing – Care staff are advised to carry out testing if they have any symptoms of Covid–19 to detect infections early.
Workforce & Service Adjustments
4. Training & Awareness – Our Staff members receive regular updates and training on infection control, symptom identification, and COVID-19 guidelines.
Client & Family Engagement
5. Risk Assessments – Regular health risk assessments for vulnerable clients to ensure proactive interventions.
Emergency Planning
6. Rapid Response to Outbreaks – Implement contingency plans for staff shortages and emergency care
