I accidentally snapped the wrong key in my front door lock and thought I would need a full lock replacement. The locksmith gave me a fair quote over the phone for a new lock, which I agreed to. But when he arrived, he managed to extract the broken key without any damage. He tested everything and said the lock was actually still in great condition. Also it turns out it’s a high security model. I was able to use my spare key and didn’t need a replacement after all, so it ended up being cheaper than expected.
