Contacted Milborrow last year to repair my flaunch and not even a year on I started experiencing water leaks inside the house. When we had the heavy rain a few weeks ago I had a pool of water inside the house. Had a good look around the stack and the flaunch and could see the cracks at the top and on the side where a repair had been made by Milborrow. Decided to call the company and spoke with several people but ultimately was referred to Kevin Giddings who was supposed to look at the pictures and make recommendations within a couple of days. I did not hear back from Kevin for ten days, when I did finally speak with him, he was dismissive, very rude and kept on giggling at the situation. telling me that he was busy and he had other priorities. Despite my initial gut feeling to terminate the call and find someone else to help me, I eventually agreed for Milborrow to come and carry out any remedial or repair work, Kevin also recommended I get scaffolding so they could carry out the work safely and with easy access. I hired scaffolding as per the images which was not cheap. Sadly when Milborrow arrived, they had a look and said there is nothing wrong with the chimney and was not sure as to why I had a leak, furthermore they said they had a site visit request on their work sheet which meant they were only coming to inspect and then decide what to do, however it was previously agreed with Kevin they would make repairs on the day of visit and the person visiting would be allocated to sort the problem out, I had waited three weeks before they actually came to the property. Definitely did NOT go down like Kevin explained. Not one to complaint but potential customers should be aware of the disrespectful manner and disregard from Kevin and the person that came out to my property. Not doubt they have lots of existing clients and probably most are not happy, I had a quick look at earlier reviews on here and they are also expressing dissatisfaction from this company. I will never ever call you for anything and I am so annoyed that I had the horridness of paying you for a poor service. You should be ashamed of yourselves that you are providing such a poor service and zero customer support. Hopefully anyone who does read this stays well clear of you and your lousy services. Not a happy customer despite giving you ample opportunities to put things right. I hope nobody else gets fobbed by you utter nonsense. Update to your response Thursday 24th November 2022. You are despicable, lying and disgusting human being, nobody shouted at you or your lazy workers who appeared to be more interested in smoking and throwing the cigarette buts on the floor. I hope people really see you for the cowboys that you are and the poor quality work that you do and you charge an arm and leg with zero customer support. Booked nearly 3months in advance. Rung the day before to check time etc.. waited on the day until after the latest time given. I highly recommend Milborrow Chimney Sweeps. Steve and Ollie are very professional, kind, knowledgeable, patient, and they always arrived on time. Very polite and they both helped me a lot to understand what the problems were. Also admin and finance team are very helpful, professional and highly organised. They've even waived the charge for the day that the works couldn't take place because Steve found out that the issue was bigger than just a normal chimney sweep! In the end we ended up having all the flute replaced, log burner cleaned and sprayed, ropes renewed, capped off all the chimneys that are not in use and have a bird guard put on. All done in 2 days. This is the first time I’ve used Milborrow Chimney Sweeps and would thoroughly recommend them. Mark and Shaun arrived within the specified time fame and immediately got to work. The flue was swept with no mess and the wood burner and the surrounding area were vacuumed clean. Over the past year my wood burning stove had ‘walked’ by a centimeter or two on the glass hearth which, apparently, is not uncommon. It was carefully repositioned and the flue joints resealed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I have used them on three occasions, they dont sweep properly and when they quote for other work they low ball "rough estimates" then come out to quote but charge to quote. You are then faced with paying them to attempt to rip you off or agree to be ripped off. Small claims court is their preferred style of combat. I have recently had a gas stove fitted by Sam Tubb and his colleague,they were super Efficient And did an excellent job I would highly recommend them ,Especially in these very difficult times of Covid they were super tidy and clean around the house making no mess at all , Sam Took a lot of time and effort to ensure the stove was fitted into a difficult space and made sure it looked fantastic They were both extremely friendly and did a wonderful job

I can’t recommend this business more, five stars all round! I had an excellent service from beginning to end.It was quick and easy over the phone to book a date in for chimney sweep, followed by a quick response on email from a gentleman giving me options on how to improve the look of my fireplace (as it was old and missing parts) offering me no obligation purchase that the chimney sweep would bring with him on the day. We have used this company a couple of times in the past. I had a voicemail from this company today asking if we would like our chimney swept tomorrow, I immediately called them back to ask the appointment time available, and if I could call back to confirm a few minutes later. The lady I spoke with informed me that was not a problem, and they would be able to visit. Just spoken with a different person, who says the slot has now been taken, and a visit is no longer possible. Terrible customer service, if this was the case, I would not have bothered phoning the second time, just be honest with customers. I could not recommend Milborrow enough! Having had a terrible experience with another company, this was the first time I've used them and will definitely be coming back again. They were actually able to bring my appointment forward a couple of weeks because they were in my area which was great. From the time our Chimney Sweep Dave arrived until he left this was a very good experience. As always with Milborrow the service was first class but Dave was such a helpfull person giving us advice about how to get the best out of our open fire and even giving us a demo! Highly recommended
