About

I am an RIBA Chartered Architect, specialising in residential extensions, conversions, and alterations. I have built up a wealth of experience in this area through a variety of projects across the UK. I have worked in sensitive locations such the Peak District and Dartmoor National Parks, as well as various urban Conservation Areas, where I was able to work constructively with planning departments to successfully gain approval.

Q&As

We would typically visit the property in the first instance (free of charge) to get a better understanding of the space and talk directly to you to about your aspirations for the project. We would then put together a bespoke quote.

Once instructed we would then take a measured survey of the space(s) and produce existing drawings. From these we would provide a number of design options to thoroughly test all available solutions and visualise the proposals, bringing the design to life and giving a sense of how the new spaces will look and feel. Following discussions with yourself we would then draw up the agreed design.

Designs are not necessarily based on any particular style but rather focussed on what the client's aims are for the project, their inspirations and visual and aesthetic references.

However, as broad categories styles range from: Modern/ contemporary/ Scandinavian/ minimalist; to cosy/ artistic/ eclectic

Architecture and design brings together the artistic creative process and a practical approach, involving pragmatism and problem-solving. This balance is unique among most professions and makes the job both challenging and rewarding.

I was inspired by friends and colleagues who took the same leap. Starting my own business gave me the chance to pursue my own creative agenda.

We are a client-focussed practice, flexible to your specific needs and aspirations. From many years experience we have a thorough engagement in the design process, and a strong grasp of the many different forces that must come together to realise a building project.

This may be possible on occasion but it is normally necessary to visit the property in person to properly understand the space and to conduct measured surveys.

Wearing of face-masks and social distancing can be undertaken during any property visit if requested.

Getting planning permission is an important hurdle for many projects. I have lots of experience working constructively with planning departments to gain approval.
