How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
Your loft is suitable for conversion if you have a minimum height of around 2.2 m from the top of your joists to the underside of the ridge board.
You also need a minimum of 2 m going down the new staircase to the loft so you may sometimes need a drop landing before you go in to the loft conversion.
Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
The loft conversion stages are: Architects survey, scaffolding up, materials delivered to site, steel beams fitted, new joists fitted, dormer construction ( if a dormer conversion), flat roof fitted ( we use GRP), dormer tiled, 1st fix electrics and plumbing, floor fitted, insulation fitted, staircase fitted, plasterboard fitted and plaster skim coat followed by 2nd fix electrics, plumbing and carpentry.
