After some 18+years and frequent issues in the last 12 months, our system boiler finally "gave up". I initially contacted my local self employed plumber who serviced the boiler and he diagnosed a mother board issue (probably the most expensive to resolve! !). After deciding to change the boiler, the local guy quoted price and delivery but then proceeded to change both on a number of occasions!! Being without heating is no joke, particularly at this time of year! So I made some initial enquiries on line. As a consequence, I was contacted by Vanessa at Lodge. She fully understood that I was trying to progress with my local guy, wished me well but said she would be happy to help if needed. After losing the best part of the week having a series of broken promises and still having no heating, I decided to call Lodge first thing on Friday 24th January. Their prompt response and an apparent desire to help was excellent. From this contact with Vanessa she arranged a site survey later that day. Jack's help and advice on the visit was invaluable and he agreed to quote a couple of alternatives later that evening - exactly as happened. Claire advised me with earliest possible fitting days and associated arrangements. By close of Friday we had accepted the quote and arranged fitting for Wednesday 29th!! Every part of the arrangement was confirmed by email - no misunderstandings! I was advised that the fitter would arrive between 8 and 9 and "Sam" was on the drive at 7.50!! He was later joined by Chris who completed the tests and commissioning. I have no hesitation in recommending the services of Lodge - my experience shows them to be fully Customer oriented, totally dependable promises and excellent service. Fantastic company very professional done everything they should have couldn’t fault them But if there is a problem after installation and obviously payment then you are talking a very different story I am a pensioner on a low income and used this company in May 2024 Obviously I had not used my heating until about a month ago only to discover that one of my radiators has air trapped and is not working I contacted Lodge plumbing and they want to charge me £80 plus vat for a 15 minute job now I can’t go into the my bedroom as it’s freezing cold and have to sleep on my put up bed in my living room If I had used lodge plumbing in the winter months they would have been obliged to come back and sort this because it was done in the spring they want to charge me they are fully aware of my situation Beware if anything goes wrong after installing and payment as you might get the same treatment which is really unfair

Lodge Plumbing & Heating are a fabulous, customer-orientated company to deal with.
We required a sizeable high-quality multi-point air conditioning system for our Cambridge home, though trying to cut through the hype and 'sales noise' to find the right installer was a real chore.
After-all, any company can claim great credentials, and over the last twenty years we've certainly seen our fair share of... (ahem)...'not-so-good' traders.
So, the bottom line came by way of trustworthy reviews, and Lodge Plumbing & Heating stood out by a considerable margin.
Cutting to the chase, very friendly service and pleasant people to deal with - from customer support to fitters, great advice when discussing all options, flexible equipment options catered for, culminating in a prompt and tidy installation that we're delighted with.
It's now a few months on and it's working like a charm, both in heating and cooling modes, and we're well-set for whatever sweltering humid heat the British weather throws at us.
It has to be said that the weather this year (2024) has been awful so far, but THAT'S the time to get such a system installed, and we have had occasions to use heating and cooling. I have sufficient recollections of oppressive humid daytime temperatures and sleepless nights, but those days are now over.

As part of some house upgrades, we were looking to install a new gas boiler from our extremely dated oil boiler. We contacted Lodge for a quote and the engineer who came out to do the survey was professional and knowledgeable. He was thorough in talking through the required works and how/where everything would go. The quote was competitive and we were impressed so far so committed to an installation date. On the day, two engineers turned up on time and worked extremely hard throughout the whole day to ensure all the old boiler/tanks/pipes were removed and the new ones installed. My oil boiler had failed and I contacted LPH. They arranged for a surveyor to visit 2 working days later and he appraised the situation and gave me an estimate at the end of his visit. It turned about to be both the cheapest and most comprehensive and I accepted it. This is a small business. I found them through a quote comparison website that contacts three providers in the area and asks them to arrange quotes. They were the first to contact me and book in a visit and of the three quotes it looked to me like they had the lowest labour rate. They were quick to get in and do the work. The install date was four days after I accepted the quote (two business days). Because they were so good at communicating, and because their prices were lower, I was worried about their ability to perform. However, the engineers who did the install were fantastic and everything is great now. I've not seen British contractors work so efficiently or for so long. They sent two men who worked nearly non-stop for almost 10 hours to do a job that is normally quoted as taking two days. I'm very happy with the work they did and their willingness to communicate with me about the job. To me it looks like they keep their prices lower by being more productive on the job.
