Rod came to my rescue last week when I had a leak in my upstairs ceiling and my so-called home emergency insurance were “unable to find a plumber” and left me stranded with no water because the stopcock had to be turned off. He arrived really soon after I’d contacted him, so he must have left other work for my emergency. After spending about an hour in the loft moving insulation and checking all the hidden pipework to find the problem, he went straight off to get the required parts for repair and fitted them. I don’t know what I’d have done if he hadn’t been able to help; you can’t live in a house if you can’t even flush the loo. More...

General Carpentry
Rod completed a variety of different jobs for me around the house. From installing door thresholds and skirting, re-pointing a stone garden wall and replacing capping stones to installing floor to ceiling boxing of heating pipes in the living room.
All jobs were done to a high quality, with meticulous detail applied to the boxing to ensure it matched the existing panelling.

We would give more stars if we could. Rod stepped in when we had been left in a mess by previous builders. He straightened an extremely uneven floor and laid tiles and found the cause of and fixed a leaking lantern roof. These don’t sound like big jobs but they were and required persistence and problem solving beyond the norm. He has made an attachment to our house feel like part of our home. More...

Also they have beautifully decorated our hallway along side the bathroom, kitchen and utility room. Rod has also filled in the cracks and beautifully painted the outside of our house. Living Edge took on a decoration and light refurbishment project for us in order to prepare a house for market. We were working to tight timescales but Rod was able to manage this effectively. Good advice and suggestions on how to present the property at its best were politely given and we are really pleased with the result. Even though there was a lot to do in the limited time the finish of the job was not rushed and everything was left tidy. The work team were polite, professional and attentive. Cannot praise Rod and his team highly enough. After discovering a major issues with the parapet wall and chimney on our 1850s house, they assessed the problem and the structural engineer recommendations and gave us a very reasonable estimate. The communication was fantastic, the team were punctual, very quick and very neat and professional and the standard of work fantastic. All done exactly on estimate and ahead of schedule.
