This review relates to a prohibited steps urgent application.

Having contacted Louise about my divorce, Louise asked if I was happy with my current child arrangements. I said that there was a very high risk that my partner could at any moment relocate across the country with the children, but I was unsure as to what I could do about this. Louise advised that there were certain steps that could be taken and after discussions about the urgency of the situation, advised me to put in a C100 application for an urgent without notice hearing. Louise set out my options clearly, honestly and in a straightforward manner. Then based on what I had told her advised that an urgent application would be best. Louise’s manner always made it very easy to understand exactly what I was going into, in what is a difficult and stressful time.

Accompanying the application was a statement which Louise’s colleagues Gill and Harriet drafted with Louise’s support. Given the urgency of the situation, fast responses were needed from the team. I was very impressed with Gill and Harriet’s quick responses to emails and their clear and precise communications. They updated the statement with my input, often out of standard business hours, ensuring we could submit documents to the court with the best possible chance of getting a quick hearing and a positive outcome.

Against the odds a quick hearing took place and an interim prohibited steps order was granted.

Throughout this process I always felt that Louise genuinely cared about this, messaging me regularly with thoughts and advice. The team were exceptional and I could not be happier with this outcome. It provides me with the protection I need whilst the full C100 procedures continue. The impact on both my life and the lives of my children going forward could not be understated following the outcome of this hearing.

I was in a very time sensitive situation, a previous solicitor had completely let me down. Louise was the complete opposite, she listened, came up with a strategy to calm the situation and was available almost 24/7. When I called, she came back to me within minutes. Spoke and reassured me, which is what I needed but was also strong in telling me what needed to be said or done even if it wasn’t what I wanted to hear. We were on the back foot of the situation and Louise turned it around, I came out with the money that was mine and an agreement, which she had practically drafted, that protected it too. After the experience I had gone through with the previous solicitor Louise helped me come out the other side with a positive outcome. The only legal services I'd ever seek in the future. They've been extremely professional thorough, and fair. You get far more than your Money's worth here; always available, even in unsociable hours and on weekends, they don't charge unfairly for work or additions, even if last minute, the quality and consistency of their work has been top-tier from beginning to end, and in my experience they're very fairly priced as well. Louise has been amazing the whole time we’ve been in contact. The communication between Louise and myself has been great. I am not the smartest person, but Louise explained everything to me which really helped me understand what was going on . I wasn’t always able to speak during the day due to having a busy time table, but Louise always goes above and beyond and worked along the 24hour clock, meaning I could speak to her later in the evening. As a family with no real experience of legal matters we turned to Louise, via Bark, after becoming disillusioned with our first firm of solicitors.
From my first conversation with Louise it was clear she knew what she was talking about. She was precise, concise and nice, understanding that many people struggle with often substantial legal fees and explaining how she could reduce the financial burden without compromising our case, giving upfront cost estimates which so far have only increased once, due to judicial inavailability, which no-one can plan for.
Our case centred around a mother trying to remove a child that we had been heavily involved in the upbringing of, from the UK permanently, even though everyone involved is British born with no connection to the prospective new country. Whilst many believe that fathers and extended families have little or no rights, Louise was able to build a solid case to present at Court and so far it has been successful.
Louise is clearly knowledgeable and very well qualified, but what sets her apart is her ability to read the situation and decide the optimal time to take each step, as well as pinpoint accuracy in the information she asked us to provide in order to present the strongest possible case.
