I treated myself last night as decided to take myself out once a month on a ‘date’; since nobody else around to! I finally got the chance to try the wonderful cuisine at La Petite Bouchee after wanting to for several years and it was a fantastic evening with really lovely food ( great to have moules for first time in ages, and steak frites perfect with beautiful fresh salad- I love it when the salad is also a work of art not an afterthought! ) - and friendly good company. ☺️ 😋 Thank you Chef Anita-Clare and team - loved it. Also felt totally comfortable as a lone diner. I was blown away by Anita-Claire’s generosity too. Originally I booked in for 3 courses, but after reviewing my budget I realised I had to cut down to 2. So imagine my surprise when I had a fabulous cheeseboard brought out to me and was told it was a gift from the Chef; who didn’t want me to miss out on the full experience. Last night Anita Clare came to our house to cook for a dinner party for my husband’s birthday. What can I say, oh wow, oh wow. The food was absolutely delicious, everyone agreed. What’s your signature dish?
Bouillabaisse, A provencal stew of fish and shellfish, served with handmade croutons, garlic rouille and Gruyere.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We love to work with our customers from their first enquiry through to our after event service. It's important to listen and work with our customers to create the best menu for their event. We have many sample menus and they're available on our website but these were all made individually for customers. Come to us with a few ideas. It's so important that the menu creation is mainly from you.
What do you love most about your job?
Working with customers, creating the menu, sourcing the best ingredients and the event itself watching as it unfolds and and seeing happy smily faces.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had been in commercial business ( Publishing ) for over 25 years and wanted a new challenge. La Petite Bouchée launched 8 years ago.

We are a very safe pair of hands. We have over 30 years of experience. Our private chef business is an extension of our already established multi-award winning brasserie and so our reputation proceeds us. We are empathetic and we listen. We are with you every step of the way for as much or as little as you need us and our prices are fair.

What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
All of us take test on the morning of each of our events. We practice good hygiene and have a 5*** from North Devon Council. Our Covid policy is clearly visible on our website.
