I am a fully-qualified and experienced teacher. I plan and prepare all lessons thoroughly, and am responsive to the level and needs of each individual student, whether beginner or advanced.
I am NOT just someone who speaks another language and thinks that he or she can therefore teach it!
I am happy to teach via Zoom, Webex or any other working platform.

Hi Mim, Many thanks for your review. It is always a pleasure to work with you and your son. Your complimentary review is doubly appreciated, given that you are yourself a teacher!
What do you love most about your job?
I love imparting my knowledge of languages and seeing my students grow in their enjoyment of the subject, which comes with their increasing confidence.
Why should our clients choose you?
My enthusiasm is infectious and my knowledge and skill in teaching languages has been given superb references throughout my teaching career. I quickly understand the way my students learn and the issues that they may have, and adapt accordingly.
I have experience of teaching SEN and students and am happy to work with such children.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I am happy to teach remotely, usually through Zoom.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
N/A for remote teaching. I do teach some students face-to-face and if necessary will adapt to requests of students as regards any sensible infection control.
Teaching Languages
I'm an experienced, UK educated, UK trained, QTS qualified teacher of languages and have had the role of Head of Department in the past. I love languages and speak several.
I have a reputation for hard work and attention to detail, and, equally important, for getting on extremely well with young people.
I have taught some primary languages over the years, but my specialism is secondary level, Years 7 to 13. That said, I have also had some experience in adult education.
I am currently not doing much formal school teaching as I am working on my property and also travelling fairly often to teach and research in Germany, France and Spain.
I do not have a massive amount of time to devote to tutoring, but will be happy to take on a few pupils who are prepared to work hard and follow my guidance.
I have developed some unique and highly successful strategies for helping students understand how the language that they are learning actually works, and have scored 97% pass success at GCSE with the students that I have taken through to their exams.
My interests outside teaching are hill-walking, history, music and sports.
