Rhiannon
The most dreadful and unkind customer service. Patronising, distressing and it’s sad considering the clients they are working with. Contradicted themselves in emails (I am referring only to whoever is answering their general enquiries). Unclear on delivery times and when questioned, tell you not to contact them until the three weeks is up, but then when you contact after the three week deadline (that they put in place) is up, they then tell you it’s a guideline and actually the report will be sent late. Very untrustworthy place and bad service . Don’t trust the fake good reviews they make the staff do them.
Jon Ryder

I can thank Ishbel for, quite literally, giving me my life back again! After three sessions with Ishbel, I had made huge steps in coming to terms with a close bereavement, quit drink and she gave me the courage to seriously consider a career change. I now have clarity and proud to begin a degree in January which hopefully will lead to job which was my original childhood dream. Thank you Ishbel! More...

What do you love most about your job?
Working with people through their concerns swiftly to get back on their feet and reach their full potential in good, mental health.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have worked for three national organisations as a Director of Nursing and run outpatients and inpatient services. I have always been focused on good quality care and my motive in life is to provide this for those who need it.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am a recognised expert in the field, I provide therapeutic treatment as well as being able to prescribe medication when required. I look holistically at the individual and have a passion for nutrition and exercise and the effect this has on mental wellbeing. My assessment and treatment will look at the whole person.
Addiction Treatment
Clients who may drink too much, use drugs recreationally/dependently, gamble and overuse of prescribed medication. Those with the above will receive a full clinical assessment alongside a physical assessment which may include blood tests. Treatment options can be discussed following assessment, therapy based treatment may also include detoxification and/or prescribed medication. All treatment is 1:1
Anxiety
Anxiety can be a debilitating problem that 1 in 6 peole in the UK suffer from.
Causes of Anxiety:
Stress
Physical factors (e.g. thyroid problems)
Childhood environment
Genetic predispositions
Biochemical imbalances (changes in the levels of chemical messengers in the brain)
Knowing the origins of an anxiety disorder doesn’t help in dealing with the day to day problems that arise as a result of the disorder but it can be reassuring for sufferers to know that there are factors out of their control that may have contributed to their present predicament.
Many people are hoping to be told of a revolutionary medication or quick fix therapy technique that will rid them of their anxiety overnight. No such treatment exists, and it is often this realisation, that the answer of recovery lies within oneself, that starts people off on that road to recovery. Working together we can begin this process.
Depression
Depression is more than simply feeling unhappy or fed up for a few days.
Most people go through periods of feeling down, but when you're depressed you feel persistently sad for weeks or months, rather than just a few days.
Treatment for depression involves a combination approach and one which at assessment we would discuss in unity with the patient considering nutrition, exercise, sleep, environment and medications.
Perimenopause
Perimenopause means "around menopause" and refers to the time during which your body makes the natural transition to menopause, marking the end of the reproductive years. Perimenopause is also called the menopausal transition.
Women start perimenopause at different ages. You may notice signs of progression toward menopause, such as menstrual irregularity, sometime in your 40s. But some women notice changes as early as their mid-30s.
Symptoms:
Irregular periods
Insomnia
Decreased libido
Uncomfortable sex
Changes in mood
Increase in cholesterol
Hot flushes
Full assessment will be taken consideration on mental and physical health before treatment plan is discussed.

Our ADHD assessments are £390. This includes a 90-minute assessment, full report and diagnosis. There are no extra or hidden charges for GP letters, phone calls ect. We prefer to carry out the assessments in person, but can accommodate a remote appointment if needed.

The titration period can take up to 12 weeks until the client is stabilised on the medication. Due to the nature of the drug, the prescription is only for 14 days so you will need to have a review every two weeks. These appointments are £80, but if you bulk book 6 sessions it is £360. There is a charge of £8 P&P for sending the prescription via Royal Mail. After you are stabilised, we will request a shared care agreement with your GP (£50 Administration fee). Please contact your GP to ensure they are happy to enter shared care agreements with private, consultant nurse led services.

Child ADHD Assessments
I Straker Consultants have made the decision to bridge the gap and support children’s services. Over the years we have received daily enquiries into this and have made a decision to start providing this service.
Our assessments will take place in a specialist sensory appropriate space that is specifically designed for children who are neurodiverse, supporting their needs and comfort
The assessments will take between 90 – 120 minutes and will include a parents/guardians input.
The full cost of the assessment is £490.
In order to support the assessment we will require:
An assessment of their parents' or carers' mental health in line with NICE guidelines
Letter and reports from teachers and/or school including observations
GP summery
Social service reports and summary where applicable
Conners' rating scales for child and parent
Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire
With the above and a full assessment, we will collate this information as an MDT and discuss in order to give a clear report which will include a directive letter for your educational environment with a breakdown of specific needs in order for the support to be implemented for your child.
In addition to this we provide a one point contact with our team who is our parent lead. They will support parents therapeutically through the process, guide them about expectations and difficulties making what is without doubt an emotional journey a little bit easier. We will additionally be developing support and therapeutic groups for parents.
Following a diagnosis we will provide treatment with a pathway into shared care – this is charged separately.
Primitive Reflex Therapy
Primitive Reflex Rehabilitation Therapy is suitable for anyone over the age of 2 years old with no upper age limit, the therapy works to rehabilitate retained primitive reflexes that should have been inhibited within the first year of life.
Primitive reflexes are the way an infant is taught the basic movements essential for it’s survival, if this neurological process is interrupted due to a traumatic birth (overly quick, prolonged, caesarean section etc), illness/injury as an infant or abuse, then the primitive reflexes will become retained.
Retained primitive reflexes can cause difficulty in all areas of development including gross motor skills, fine motor skills, sensory processing, social communication and speech and language, emotional regulation, academic skills, sleep, toileting, posture, stamina, energy levels, attention and concentration and retention and recall to name but a few areas.
To rehabilitate the primitive reflexes, we provide a course of therapy that after a full neurological assessment you can complete in your own home. The therapy needs to be completed every day and relies on accuracy and speed of each of the movements. The movements themselves are slow and deliberate while lying on a firm surface, they typically take 30 minutes to complete. The full course of therapy typically lasts approximately 18 months and we will case manage you fully throughout the process, ensuring you have the support and advice you need on your journey.
The primitive reflex rehabilitation therapy has been very successful over 4 decades changing not only the individuals’ quality of life but the quality of the whole families’ lives. It is particularly effective in reducing the symptoms of conditions and disorders such as autism, ADHD/ADD, global developmental delay, dyspraxia, dyslexia, dyscalculia, however, a diagnosis is not required to access the therapy.
I straker Consultants are proud to announce that we are one of only a few services in the UK, qualified and experienced enough to be able to offer this type of therapy.
For pricing and next steps, please contact the team via the Liverpool office telephone number or by emailing info@istrakerconsultants.co.uk .
Counselling & Therapy
Counselling and therapy provide essential support for individuals dealing with various mental health issues, offering a safe space to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. The benefits extend across a range of mental health conditions, from anxiety and depression to more complex disorders like PTSD or bipolar disorder. Through professional guidance, individuals can gain insight into the root causes of their emotional and psychological struggles, leading to greater self-awareness and personal growth. By fostering open dialogue, therapy encourages healthier coping mechanisms and problem-solving skills, essential for managing stress, improving relationships, and enhancing overall well-being.
A key benefit of therapy is its adaptability to different needs and conditions through various treatment modalities. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), for example, is highly effective for anxiety and depression, helping individuals reframe negative thinking patterns. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) is particularly useful for those with borderline personality disorder or individuals struggling with emotional regulation, offering skills to manage intense emotions and build healthier interpersonal relationships. Psychodynamic therapy delves into unconscious motivations and past experiences, making it particularly valuable for those facing unresolved trauma or deep-seated emotional conflicts. These therapeutic approaches offer tailored interventions that address the specific needs of each individual.
Moreover, integrating different modalities such as mindfulness-based therapies, humanistic approaches, and even emerging methods like somatic therapy or EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) ensures a holistic approach to mental health care. This allows therapists to meet the diverse and unique needs of each individual. For example, trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR can help individuals process traumatic memories in a non-invasive, structured way, while mindfulness techniques foster present-moment awareness, helping to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. Combining these modalities in a personalized treatment plan maximizes the effectiveness of therapy, supporting long-term recovery and resilience.
Ultimately, therapy provides more than just symptom relief; it empowers individuals to live more fulfilling and balanced lives by addressing their mental health holistically. Whether through individual therapy, group counselling, or family therapy, people of all backgrounds and conditions can benefit from a customized therapeutic approach that honours their unique experiences.
