What do you love most about your job?
Helping clients feel more connected to plants and nature.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always had a deep love of gardens and gardening which inspired me to retrain during the start of lockdown. I grew up in Shropshire and spent all my spare time walking in forests, badger or owl watching as well as playing my violin with my family in the inspiring local garden Wollerton Old Hall (which has a beautiful David Austin rose named after it!). My father inspired me to start my own business, and I dedicate all my hard work to his instilling us with a deep passion for the natural world.
Why should our clients choose you?
If they want to work with a garden designer who really cares about the final look and feel of their garden, and has a close attention to detail. They may also keen to encourage wildlife into their garden through the specific plant choices if they would like to see more butterflies, birds, bees or other species. I have studied and have an excellent knowledge of different plants for different sites, which is crucial for how the garden develops in time.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes - I can provide a desktop planting plan which can be based on your images and descriptions alone. I much prefer working in person throughout but where this is not possible a solution can be found.
Garden Design
Option 1 - planting plan
If you would like support on choosing the best plants for your garden, I can provide a bespoke planting plan service. This could include a single or multiple beds in a front or back garden, and is most applicable to those who have green fingers anyway and will likely be installing the plants themselves, but would enjoy a little more expert support in choosing the right plants. This would include a site survey as part of the service.
Option 2 - planting and habitat plan
A planting and habitat plan could specify alterations or additions to be made to create all-important habitat sites for wildlife. The planting and habitat plan would work in tandem to significantly increase biodiversity within your garden and local area.
Option 3 - full design package
This is applicable for those who want to reimagine the garden. After initial contact, I will visit the garden to understand the site and scope, and discuss initial ideas and directions for the design with you.
Garden Maintenance
This option would usually be offered after a design service has been carried out.
- Diverse, rich plantings that move and inspire as well as provide year-round interest and colour
- A focus on ‘edimentals’ - edible plants that are also ornamentally beautiful and long-flowering. This includes plants such as fruit trees or shrubs (cherry and quince), violets, vegetables (squash) that add real beauty whilst providing an enjoyable crop
- The use of much-loved native wildflowers
- Using the right plants in the right place e.g. provide screening from noise or a view, or to help mitigate boggy ground
- No more wasted money or time on plants that aren’t suited to your garden. Our expert plant knowledge will provide you with a planting which thrives and becomes even more beautiful year on year
