The workers did not arrive on time, there was no care in the work, and the standard of cleaning was very poor. Many places were left unclean, but they took the full amount. I rarely write bad reviews, but my experience with Home Shine has been incredibly disappointing. Their service was inconsistent, overpriced, and dishonest. I booked an end-of-tenancy deep cleaning with them at short notice because I needed urgent help. After sending pictures of my flat (which housed two cats), they quoted me £230 for the job. Trusting them, I wasn’t present during the cleaning as I had already moved to another city (two hours away). They claimed to have cleaned for 8 hours and sent me some pictures afterward, though they weren’t detailed. When I received the invoice, the price had jumped to £280 without a clear explanation. The next day, my landlord inspected the flat and was very dissatisfied. The sofa still had cat fur, the kitchen walls weren’t cleaned, and the furniture was left in the corridor instead of being placed back in its original positions. When I contacted Home Shine with pictures highlighting the areas that needed re-cleaning, they agreed to return but charged me an additional £20 for sofa deep cleaning and £50 for removing a cat tree, which my landlord asked me to dispose of. They sent me videos of them supposedly fixing the issues. However, my landlord inspected the flat again and found that they had only cleaned part of the sofa—the exact section I had sent in the photos. They ignored the rest even though it was common sense that I wanted all the fur removed. On top of that, they didn’t clean the kitchen cabinet handles, and even worse, they broke parts of the bed and kitchen board! When I contacted them again, my landlord refused to use their services anymore, and now I am facing a deposit deduction because of their poor work. This company is money-hungry—charging extra for every little thing—without actually delivering proper results. To make matters worse, when I requested compensation for the deposit deduction, they ignored my message completely! STAY AWAY from this unprofessional, unreliable company. They overcharge, underdeliver, and take advantage of customers who aren’t physically present to monitor their work. Do not waste your money! More...

The director of Home Shine Services was inspired to start the company due to a sense of disconnection he had experienced from being a client of other cleaning companies. He felt that customer service quality was surprisingly low and there was not a clear system that end users could manage their cleans on.
