I wanted help to create a space in my home which I could be proud of, and our master bedroom and ensuite was in desperate need of renovation. I needed inspiration and the chance to talk through my ideas to make it a reality. This is the first time I have used the services of a interior designer and Helen was recommended to me by a friend. This proved to be one of the best decisions I have made. Helen was so patient and understanding, offering advice and ideas I’d never considered before. Helen produced some sketches, some colour samples, and a complete ensuite bathroom plan, including structural drawings. I explained to Helen how much I had to spend, and she worked within this agreement and actually saved me some money! East View Housing is an organisation which provides residential services for adults with learning disabilities, and we engaged the services of Helen to assist us in developing fire plans and service layouts of all of our care homes.
This involved visiting each establishment and taking detailed notes of what was to be required in the fire plan. The drawings were to scale and showed all the information we required when incorporating this into a fire risk assessment.
We were so pleased with the service Helen provided, she is a very friendly lady, who obviously takes pride in the work she produces. She was able to work within the budget we agreed and went over and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the results. Her caring, but professional approach was commented on by our staff teams and we would be very happy to work with Helen again if the need arose.

What’s your interior design process?
The consultation is key, taking the clients brief gives clear direction and understanding of what they want. I can then work on sketches, layouts, mood/sample boards and present my ideas back to them. From that we can agree on the design intent and develop the overall scheme and produce a whole design package.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
All design styles can be catered to, if you have a style idea, I can bring it to reality.
What do you love most about your job?
All stages of the design process is important and exciting to me, from meeting the clients, to colour schemes and working drawings, I'm lucky to enjoy every aspect of my job but the best bit is creating happy spaces for happy clients.
What inspired you to start your own business?
After years of working for several design companies and learning a lot along the way, I gained the experience and confidence to became a freelance designer. I get the opportunity to work on fantastic projects which brings me so much pride and satisfaction and the freedom to work around my family life.
