The initial consultation can be via Zoom or FaceTime, but in order to gain a thorough perspective of the garden and it's characteristics a site visit is necessary.

We took the pandemic very seriously and undertook all the necessary precautions, but in reality most of our work is outdoors and provided that our landscapers and gardeners protected their space and respected clients there was very little risk. We also cleaned machines and tools and avoided wherever possible the sharing of equipment.

Services

CREATING SOMETHING SPECIAL STARTS WITH THE DESIGN BRIEF.

During our initial consultation, we will engage in an in-depth evaluation of your garden project. This will include a thorough examination of the project scope, how you envisage enjoying the garden, your wish list, as well as your preferred styles. Additionally, we will consider the topography of your garden and explore the relationship between your garden, house and outbuildings.

We consider your plant preferences, favourite colours, and any planning restrictions. With these details, we create a garden design that harmonises with your surroundings, fitting your style and meeting regulations.

Budget guidelines are an important factor in this process as they will impact the scope of the project, or suggest a phased approach. So we are always keen to agree a budget range with clients before embarking on a design.

Our Garden Designers then research and develop their ideas, gaining inspiration from experience and many different sources . They study the space and come up with solutions based on what you want and what is achievable. They will create a detailed plan that includes things like plants, paths, buildings and water features. To inform the plan they consult with construction and other colleagues. Their aim is to make a beautiful garden that answers the brief, is practical, matches the surroundings and excites the senses.

Outcome.

The finished concept is reached through a consultative process with the Client and may involve a number of iterations. It may include the production of visualisations and computer generated images allowing you to view the concept from different angles.

The final concept is then shared with construction colleagues and it becomes the basis for sourcing materials, plants and a construction estimate.

It also becomes the basis for any subsequent scale working drawings, planning consultation, approvals, and planting plans.

This thoughtful and thorough approach helps ensure every detail is considered and executed with care, resulting in a successful outcome for all parties.

Our hard landscaping involves the use of materials such as concrete, stone, wood and metal to create structural elements in outdoor spaces. This type of landscaping is focused on the construction of features such as garden buildings, patios, walkways, retaining walls and fences. It adds functionality and structure to an outdoor area, while also enhancing its aesthetic appeal. It requires careful planning and skilled craftsmanship to ensure the longevity and durability of these features. It will help transform a plain and uninspiring space into a beautiful and functional outdoor area that is perfect for socialising, entertaining, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.

VISION TO REALITY.

Having agreed an estimate and timing plan with you our landscapers will work with our designers to turn our vision into reality.

The teams are skilled in all aspects of construction including groundworks, wall construction, laying terraces, carpentry, erection of garden buildings and structures, water features and ponds, fencing, trellis and pergolas.

Our soft landscaping includes the formation of the land and its contours. It includes the use of lawned areas, meadows, ponds and lakes, plus plants, trees and other foliage to enhance the aesthetics and functionality of a space. It involves the careful selection, placement and maintenance of various plant species to create a harmonious and attractive outdoor environment. It can range from creating lush gardens and flower beds to designing functional green spaces and natural habitats. It plays a crucial role in adding beauty, texture and colour to your garden, while providing a range of benefits such as improving air quality, reducing noise pollution, and promoting biodiversity. A well-executed soft landscaping design by Gardenproud can transform an ordinary space into a tranquil and inviting oasis that brings joy to both the eye and the soul.

PLANTING.

Once the hard landscaping has been created the teams will interpret our planting plans, lay lawns, plant trees and borders.

We work with a team of electricians, plumbers, decorators and tree surgeons to ensure that all aspects of the construction are catered for and coordinated to provide you with the perfect solution.

To help make the whole scheme run as smoothly as possible we will project manage and quality control the whole process.

UNDERSTANDING YOUR GARDEN.

We meet with you and discuss the most appropriate solution for your garden improvement and maintenance. This involves understanding your budget, the complexity, size and topography of your garden, plus factoring in any plans you have for improvement. Any information you can provide us about previous maintenance, it’s successes and failures is extremely valuable.

Many clients like to work alongside our gardeners, or are keen to participate in some, but not all aspects, this is welcomed. Some clients have other gardeners who carry out very specific duties, so we help create clear lines of specialisation and work alongside them to create a seamless solution for you. In larger gardens and small estates we can manage the whole process and help you budget all aspects of your outdoor space.

OUR GARDENERS ARE ENCOURAGED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP

With the gardeners input we agree a maintenance plan for each garden. Wherever possible we encourage the gardeners to take “Ownership”, so they start to see the garden as their responsibility and use their initiative and knowledge (sometimes pooled) to create and execute a year round schedule of care for your garden.

The gardeners are supported by a group of tree surgeons, hedge cutting and topiary specialists, lawn care experts, pest control colleagues and licensed sprayers.

We use online plant identification programmes and a shared knowledge base among all our gardeners using our closed user WhatsApp group.

We also actively sponsor training for gardeners who wish to further their knowledge.

DELIVERING THE MAINTENANCE PLAN.

Once we have agreed the plan and budget for your garden we support our gardeners and you with advice, training, additional resources and equipment.

So in addition to information and support from colleagues, our gardeners have access to a large pool of Gardenproud equipment that includes ride-ons, hand mowers, safety ladders, brush cutters, blowers and hedge trimmers. We also factor in wherever possible your own equipment as this is on-site and can help save unnecessary transportation and fuel costs. From time to time we may need to research and hire specialist tools to help complete difficult tasks.

Health and Safety is always paramount so we have created a training guide for each gardener and encourage them to always use the appropriate PPE.

Together with yourself and the gardeners we help them assess their progress and keep a close check on any additional steps that might lead to improving the service.
