I initially contacted Andy about an issue with my door lock, initial conversation suggested a new lock would be required. However, when Andy inspected the lock it just needed some oil for which he did without charge . Found Andy of Fortify Locksmiths on a Checkatrade leaflet put through the door - glad I'd kept it. Rang him at 11:45 regarding an emergency lock change and was given an acceptable quote. The lock was replaced by 15:00. It was for my elderly father in law and I wasn't at the property, but he kept me updated all the way. He even recommended a different type of lock which was safer and more practical for the elderly, with no extra charge. Completed within 10 mins. As requested, he didn't approach my FIL for payment and sent me the invoice which reflected the amount quoted, and no call out fee. Prompt, reasonable charge. Locksmith was very friendly and professional. Arrived quickly despite it not being an emergency. He took time to show and explain exactly what he was doing at each step and why (which is always great when dealing with a trade the customer will generally have little knowledge on) and showed he was very trustworthy. Work was completed quickly to fix a trapped key and fault preventing the turn off inside mechanism. Initially I was worried what the price could be, however he had predicted from my explanation that it may be a quick fix without damage to expensive replacement needing parts, and this is how it turned out. Lock is fixed and door works, closes and locks perfectly. All in all, very professional, immediately makes you feel Comftorble and trusting, work completed efficiently and well and for a very reasonable price, all within a couple of hours of calling.
