Mark is a very experienced and capable psychotherapist who is able to elicit deeply buried experiences, memories and emotions that form one's outlook today. Working with Mark has helped me better understand and subsequently cope with my obsessions and anxiety. More...

Q&As

Each clients story and journey is different and the path through it is not always obvious. I enjoy walking with my clients through it all and very often learn something about myself and my own journey too.

Being a private practitioner means that the contract between client and counsellor can be written jointly and modified when necessary, to fit our needs. There are fewer limits on how long the work takes and can be more open-ended to accommodate peoples busy lives. The freedom and flexibility of this format is what pushed me to start First Step Counselling Ltd.

I am approachable, flexible, non-judgemental and welcoming to all. I have experience with a wide variety of client issues and always keen to learn about the details that make each persons experience different to the last.

I feel that the best work between client and counsellor is usually done in a face to face setting, however, some people find that difficult and I do offer short term, online counselling via Teams.
