Hello Jessica, thank you so very much for my maternal family tree. It was extremely emotional to read the report, especially regarding my mother’s father, It broke my heart reading about his early years, he did not stand a chance, poor man. I definitely will be in touch regarding more of my family tree, my paternal side, this would be more challenging because of my father’s adoption as I’d like to explore his birth mothers side. It must be so rewarding for you to know that people like me appreciate the work you do by bringing our family life from the past to present. I would recommend you to anyone, your hard work and dedication shines through. I will be in touch soon Jessica, thank you again, Margaret Ford 😊 More...

I enlisted the help of Jessica to help me discover more about my new husbands family tree, and clear up a mystery caused by a probable error on a marriage and death cert. I wouldn’t have managed to get as close to a resolution without her knowledge and skillset. I would thoroughly recommend Jessica for anyone wanting to learn more about their family history. More...

Q&As

I love being a 'detective' and helping to find elusive ancestors using available records and tying them in with family anecdotes. Solving family history mysteries is probably my favourite thing! Learning about how people lived, where they worked, and their families, connects clients to their past and it is really satisfying to be a part of their journey.

I fell in love with genealogy in 2002 while still at school and so began weekly trips to the Aberdeen and North-East Scotland Family History centre. This led to an honours degree in History and Cultural History from the University of Aberdeen. A highlight of my academic career was winning the Cultural History prize for my dissertation 'Happy Homes? Cultural Questions about Changing Family Values in Aberdeenshire, 1914-2008.' After 15 years working in a family business, I now use my genealogy skills full-time to help clients find their forebears.

I love what I do and am happy to tailor my service to your budget.

Yes. Many records are available online and I have membership on several genealogy websites. My final report is emailed in PDF format.

My consultations are usually carried out remotely.
