Had a mixed connection today. Great shops and facilities available at new st. Shout out to Avanti having water on board and a decent menu. Coffee and lemon drizzle cake for £4 deal is better. New street trams and local shops are great too. Weatherspoons train updates is so helpful. Please BNS would you man the platforms better and ensure signage and staff can clearly help people avoid missing the B and C platforms hidden at the ends. 4C is so hidden I boarded the wrong train with no staff on platform, but can understand why they at the top of stairs or sitting on trains due to cold weather. Hands down one of the best stations I’ve been to. The location is unbeatable, with easy access to all the main shopping areas in the city. If you know your way around, you don’t even have to step outside to get to the Bullring shopping centre, which is a massive bonus, especially when the weather isn’t great. For a station of its size, it’s impressively clean, and there’s loads of seating—although I wish the charging ports were actually connected to the mains. The food options upstairs are great too—plenty of variety, so you’ll never be stuck for something to eat. I’ve heard some people say the layout is confusing, but honestly, I think it’s pretty straightforward. It does an excellent job of avoiding overcrowding, especially compared to Euston, which handles similar numbers but feels so much more chaotic. The only downside is the signposting—it could be better for people who are visiting for the first time. But overall, it’s a convenient, well-designed station that’s a pleasure to travel through. When myself and my friend was walking through this part of Birthmingham, we both were very Impressed by the amount of Beautiful shops that lined the street. Great atmosphere of the Christmas Shoppers and Visitors. Lots of Modern Cafès, Bars and Restaurants you could go and visit. Very well kept clean and rubbish free, we both thought. We generally really liked the Whole Experience in this Upcoming area of Birmingham City Center. I Highly Recommend you come and visit this Great place. After an eventful stressful trip from Stockport heading to St David's train station in Deven Exeter on the 27th of November. I found myself at Birmingham new Street station a station I was not meant to stop at. I ended up missing my delayed train from Stockport as the platform changed and I missed my train. A member of Staff called Gemma that had dark curly hair. Was supper helpful, supportive and informative. So just felt the need to give her a shout and mention her personally here. Two trains cancelled. The second train was hard to get on due to people pushing and shoving to get onto train. After 10 minutes we were told to get off as it was cancelled. We then had to wait another 20 minutes for next train. Took an hour to finally get on train home. Was overly crowded and couldn’t get off the train as people were standing in the way. Very rude people in Birmingham. Won’t be visiting that hell hole again! More...
