Run us through the different stages in the loft conversion process - what’s involved?
- Access and Scaffolding: Install scaffolding for safe access and create temporary weatherproofing (e.g., tarpaulin) if the roof is opened.
- Structural Work: Strengthen the floor with new joists, add dormer windows or rooflights, and modify the roof structure (e.g., for mansard or hip-to-gable conversions).
- Staircase Installation: Build a staircase to access the loft, ensuring compliance with fire safety regulations (e.g., a protected escape route).
- Insulation and Weatherproofing: Insulate walls and the roof to meet energy efficiency standards and install vapor barriers to prevent dampness.
- Windows and Ventilation: Fit windows (e.g., Velux or dormer) and ensure proper ventilation to avoid condensation.
- Plumbing and Electrics: Install wiring for lighting, sockets, and heating (e.g., radiators or underfloor heating). Add plumbing if including a bathroom.
- Plastering and Drywall: Board and plaster walls and ceilings for a smooth finish.
- Flooring and Finishes: Lay flooring (carpet, wood, or laminate) and add skirting boards, doors, and other fittings.

I have been in the construction industry for 18 years doing various projects from plastering to building new homes as well as project managing and administration
What do you love most about your job?
Meeting different clients, providing clients with bespoke ideas, giving the client the work they deserve as per their specific requirements, but most importantly is seeing the progress once the work has started.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Firstly is Being Passionate about what you enjoy is key. The love I have for the construction industry is second to none. secondly is deliverance. Seeing clients reactions to see their visions come to life is a whole different level and that is why I started my own business. Heart & deliverance.
