Sought planning permission mid 2024 with the intention to convert the garage into a ‘social room’. Came across convertmygarage on line and was impressed with the reviews that had been posted so contacted Liam. Liam was informative from the beginning and arranged all the skilled workforce in as and when needed. Liam dealt with the Caerphilly council inspector and after each visit we were just updated with the progress. Really happy and impressed with the additional room in the house, it’s so good the plan from the room has changed from what was going to be a bar/social room to now a weekend chillout room. Run us through the different stages of the Garage conversion process - what's involved?
The garage conversion process begins with an initial consultation and design phase, where we discuss your needs, measure the space, and create a custom plan. We also check if planning permission is required and ensure the project complies with building regulations.
Next is preparation, which includes clearing the garage, removing the door, and installing a new wall or window. We then tackle structural modifications like raising the floor, adding insulation to the walls and ceiling, and making any necessary adjustments to the layout.
During the electrical and plumbing phase, we install wiring for lights, sockets, and heating, and lay pipes if plumbing is needed. Afterward, we move on to plastering, fitting windows, doors, and flooring, followed by decorating.
