Jess
Worked with long term anxiety problems. I'm in a much better place now. I have a bunch of tools I can use when I get upset. It was a nice gentle experience and I never felt rushed in any way. More...
What do you love most about your job?
The most satisfying element to my job is working with people and helping those who are suffering, to get back to living a normal and happy life again.
It's always a joy to see a person shift from thinking and acting so negatively, to becoming the complete polar opposite and getting back to a healthy lifestyle.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I went through a lot of my own troubles when I was younger and saw the benefit in self help and seeking help from others. I have always been a great communicator and love interacting with others. When my previous job was demanding 70+ hours a week from me, I decided to train in therapy. It took me a few years to finish my diploma, in which I gained a distinction, and I have not looked back since.
Why should our clients choose you?
I am passionate about what I do and deeply understand people's issues. I classify my methods as brief therapy and always aim to help people in a timely manner. Clients tell me that I make them feel at ease very quickly, which helps to build trust. I have had a lot of life experience, and this has helped me develop compassion and empathy.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I keep a suitable distance from my clients. I have hand sanitiser inside and outside the office. I also run an air filter in the room to trap pollutants such as dust, pollen and viral particles.
Psychotherapy
Helping clients overcome their issues through changing the way they think and behave. Psychotherapy is a talk therapy which helps a person make changes in the way they think about their issues and also helps a client adapt their behaviour into a much more supportive and helpful way.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnosis is a mental state you enter into several times a day without realising it. It's an altered state of awareness. And in this state it is often easier for the therapy to go deeper into the unconscious mind, helping the individual create changes in the way they think and feel.
EMDR
EMDR therapy is designed to use bilateral stimulation to desensitise anxiety and trauma.
This can utilise moving your eyes left and right whilst thinking about your current issue. We can also use hand buzzers that buzz in both hands out of sync with each other. This is also bilateral stimulation that can lead to a reduction in symptoms.
Brainspotting
Brainspotting is a very unique way to work through a wide range of issues. Your eyes are the windows to your feelings and being able to access your feelings that are linked to your problems means the unconscious parts of your brain can work through the issues and relieve them. I have successfully worked with sports people, musicians and singers who suffer from focal dystonia.
