YOUR REPLY IS UNTRUE REPORTED STRAIGHTAWAY TO STAFF MEMBER AFTER VACATING AND THEN AGAIN WHEN NO RESPONSE MADE. OBVIOUSLY OLD CARPETS WERE STORED IN NEARBY UNITS TO CAUSE INFESTATION. CLEANING NOT TAKING PLACE AS MUD IN CORRIDOR WAS LEFT FOR WEEKS! CARPET BEETLES DEFINITELY NOT ON MY STUFF PRIOR TO STORAGE - SOME NEW RUGS HAD TO BE THROWN OUT. APPALLING THAT YOU ARE TRYING TO FALSIFY GENUINE ISSUE - I NEVER EVEN GOT AN APOLOGY - JUST RUDENESS!!!!! Carpet beetles reported -Storefirst Derby totally didn’t care as I had found them straight after moving my stuff out. Told me I could not make an insurance claim as I would need to have left the damaged items in the unit. Literally found them the next day after moving items out. The corridors were never cleaned and often left full of soil and rubbish. Unlike other units, Storefirst do not care about people filling their units with filthy stuff which contaminates other people's units. When I brought this up I was told that the contaminated items would only have been covered by their insurance if they had been left in the unit! Twice the unit door had been forced with the bottom kicked out. Not a secure or clean place to store your items, there are many other storage companies who are much better with polite staff. More...

Q&As

Care and Support is our main aim to be there to make customers experience a great experience. with being a small company we get to know the customer well and can pickup on thing a lot quicker, we will never be a huge company, we like being small and giving our customers the experience, support and care they need, being able to support customers to stay in there homes being safe and person centred.

I worked for Derby City Council for over 10 years until the department for ALDT was closed down, I was asked by some families what would happen as even with going forward on direct payments a lot of companies only wanted to take on the care for those who were not complicated and easy to support.
I was made redundant on a Friday and started my business on the Monday, this has been a steep learning curb, from working with ALD we now support people with dementia, mental health, more mature people in age who need support to keeping living independently, sitting in service to give families a break for a few hours while they get to do there own thing
we have been very fortunate that all of our customer have come from recommendation from professionals such as social workers, community nurses, mental health teams, dementia teams even GPs.

We are a small independent support and care company, we can focus on what is important to the customer, family and friends, all our care plans are person centred so no to peoples care is the same and is tailored to the individual persons needs.
We do not wear uniforms as we have found especially with dementia they are more calm and we try to blend in, this is the same if we take a customer out they don't always like people in uniforms as shows they need support, we try to blend in as a friend.
Our system is secure on line and is recommend by the NHS on their recommended and approved list of companies to use and approved by CQC, no paperwork left out for the wrong people to get hold off and look at if this is confidential
Member of the family if recommended can have access to the system to see what support has been given on that day, You can get hold of management 24hrs a day by phone.
We can adapt our support and change as needed as their care needs change, communicate with family and friend straight away if we have any concerns.
support families and friends and are there if they need advice or comfort if things get to much and stressful.
We are rated GOOD on CQC.
All staff are fully trained and receive updated training every year or as the law changes
We provide al PPE.

We have always been very observant and pro active in cleaning services down and wearing the correct PPE, wiping services down before any food prep, washing hands regular, making sure handles, light switches and touchable services are disinfected.
We also had our own little shop that stocked essentials like toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, disinfectant, hand wash, and tin food, long life milk, etc for those who could not get to the shops or the shop had sold out
We still make sure and ask customers to have antibacterial cleaners and we put antibacterial had wash in all customers home in the kitchen.
We adapt to any government advice given.
