We had been searching for a designer who would work quite flexibly and in collaboration with us. We had ideas of how the house would look but not the experience or time to do it. We wanted to keep the sense of an old Cumbrian farmhouse whilst updating it and ensuring that it felt "right" for us. Carole had that approach.
