Q&As

We very much enjoy training our Companion Carers to be able to create positive connections with our clients and most of all receive great feedback.
There’s something really special about being there for someone, and offering both emotional and practical support. It’s about being a source of comfort and reliability, helping someone feel less lonely and more supported in their daily life. Just being able to engage with someone, share stories, and offer companionship has such a meaningful impact. Every person is unique, so each connection brings its own rewarding challenges and moments of joy.

Starting our Homecare and Companionship service stemmed from a strong desire to make a positive impact on people’s lives. We witnessed the need for more personalised and unique companionship care which inspired us to take action. Many people in the community, especially older adults or those with chronic health issues, can feel isolated, and having someone who provides not only physical support but also emotional connection is incredibly valuable. We also wanted to offer services that go beyond just the basics of care, so we could aim to provide a sense of companionship and dignity for others.

*Customised Care Plans:
We take the time to thoroughly understand each of our client’s needs, preferences, and personality. Our service does not offer a “one-size-fits-all” solution - instead, we create personalised care plans that are flexible and adapt to changes in our client’s situation.

*Highly Trained and Compassionate Carers:
Our caregivers not only have professional qualifications but also possess a genuine passion for providing care. They are carefully selected not only for their expertise but also for their empathy, creating an environment of warmth and trust.

*Focus on Emotional and Social Well-Being:
While many services focus on physical care, our service places a strong emphasis on the emotional and social aspects of companionship. Whether it’s through engaging conversations, helping our clients maintain hobbies, or simply providing a friendly presence, our service aims to improve quality of life beyond just basic assistance.

*Comprehensive Support Beyond Companionship:
In addition to providing companionship, our service assists with light housekeeping, meal preparation, medication reminders, and other daily tasks, creating a well-rounded support system for our clients.

*Family Involvement:
We offer family communication updates, ensuring that loved ones are always informed and involved in the care plan. This helps to build trust and creates a collaborative approach to care, offering peace of mind for families.

*Cultural Sensitivity and Inclusivity:
Our service goes the extra mile by understanding the cultural backgrounds and specific needs of our clients, making sure that their care is personalised not only in terms of tasks but also in respecting traditions, languages, and cultural values.

*Flexible Scheduling and Availability:
Whether our clients need someone for a few hours a week or full-time care, our service offers flexible scheduling to fit their needs, even offering emergency or last-minute care when required.

No, our service has to be delivered face-to-face in able to carry out services such as housekeeping, meal preparation and taking our clients out and about in the community.

To keep our clients safe from COVID-19, our home care and companionship service implemented several safety protocols. Here are some of the key measures we had adopted:

*Health Screenings for Carers:
Health screenings, including temperature checks and COVID-19 testing for all caregivers before they begin working with clients. This ensures that no one who may be carrying the virus is allowed to provide care.

*Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
All carers would wear appropriate PPE including masks, gloves and face shields when interacting with clients. This helps minimise the risk of transmission, especially in close-contact situations.

*Frequent Handwashing and Sanitizing:
Emphasising strict hygiene practices, including frequent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizers to ensure both clients and carers remain safe. Carers also disinfected high-touch areas such as doorknobs, light switches, and countertops regularly.

*Social Distancing and Limited Physical Contact:
We encouraged social distancing to minimise the risk of exposure. We modified the type of activities offered to ensure they were in line with social distancing guidelines, while still providing engaging companionship.

*Remote Services and Virtual Visits:
The introduction of virtual companionship services (e.g., phone calls, video chats) for clients who may be particularly vulnerable or who prefer not to have face-to-face visits. This allows clients to stay connected without exposing themselves to potential risks.

*Flexible Care Options:
Offer flexibility in the care schedules to accommodate changing health guidelines, ensuring that clients can adjust their care plans as needed. Working with clients to reduce the frequency of visits when it is safe to do so, or transition to other care options such as virtual check-ins.

*Clear Communication and Updates:
Keeping both clients and their families informed about any changes in policies, the safety measures in place, and the availability of carers. Regular updates on local health guidelines and how they impact service in able to ensure transparency and trust.

*Vaccination Requirements:
Vaccination policy for carers to ensure the highest level of protection against COVID-19. This includes encouraging or requiring both staff and clients (where appropriate) to be vaccinated.

*Staying Updated on Guidelines:
Keeping in close contact with local health authorities and follow any changes in public health guidelines to adapt our practices accordingly. This helps to ensure that we are always operating with the latest safety standards.
