I have used capitall marquees twice now in the last 6 months. Both times the service was amazing. The marquees looked amazing both times and the put up and take down was so efficient. The boys were so polite and helpful I would 100% use capitall marquees again and have already reccomended them to friends and family. I hired a 12x3 marqee from Capital Marqees for my daughter’s engagement party on the 17th December 2023. I was worried about my guests feeling cold. Ian suggested I use the diesel space heater which I did, and my event went seamlessly. The set up and dismantle was done promptly, the guys arrived before 9am and wasted no time. The quality of the marqee was brilliant, my garden floor was a bit uneven so I had wooden floors and carpet. This is one of the reasons I went with capital Marqees due to the weather and having a safe hard flooring. A typical response from someone attempting to cover up a complete lack of decency and respect. Via a review, not phone - nice. You were greeted at reception. The CCTV shows that you carried out your site visit as per instructions from Canterbury marquees. So much so you then contacted Canterbury Marquees that afternoon to instruct them of your findings. Herewith the email received from Canterbury Marquees that afternoon. ____ "Hi Richard Following the site visit this morning, Ian Lumbard has advised an alternative configuration of marquee for your event, which sits better on the site (and will mean less strain on your budget). He has measured and allowed for 1 x 12m x 24m main marquee, with adequate space for 200 chairs, 20 tables, the stage and dance floor - with the catering tent sitting alongside. A wheelchair ramp will be provided. Ian will be billing you directly for the set up costs, please await his email which will arrive from Capitall Marquees (and will include the layout plan). As discussed, he will be on site Thursday for the set up. ____ Copies of all emails can be supplied to whoever wishes to read them. Fact remains, you didn't have the common decency to call, answer the phone, or respond to any communications from Wednesday through Saturday. Original review. One star is one too many. As I write this review (8th July), I have 200 guests due to arrive for our annual Summer Ball tomorrow, but I have no marquee or flooring! Why? Despite a successful site visit Tuesday 5th July, Ian and his 'team' said loosely, failed to turn up to site Thursday 7th. Despite numerous phone calls, voicemails and texts throughout the day - these were blatantly ignored. Ian even had the audacity to read WhatsApp messages and not reply. Wait. There was a twist! At 8pm last night a message was received... "I will call you at 8am", holding out no hope of this, and a sleepless night and 46 marquee companies later, we still had no marquee. Thankfully one company responded at 6:30am, I Do Marquees (Premier Marquees) - they met our requirements, gathered a team and arrived onsite at 1pm today (8th July). As I look out my Office window, the camaraderie and team work of all involved is a site to be hold and a credit to this outfit. Something that cannot be said for the cowboy outfit that is Capital Marquees. DO NOT USE! The stress and anxiety that this experience has caused is not worth anyone's time or energy. A very delayed review - we booked Capitall Marquees for our wedding in August 2020. From the very beginning, Ian was professional, reliable and punctual with very fair costs compared to other marquee companies. The circumstances significantly changed due to the pandemic and Ian was so reassuring and adaptable which reduced what was a very stressful situation at the time. Upon assembling the marquee, we realised last minute that our Hindu wedding alter may be too tall for one of the marquees, and despite it being a very last minute issue, Ian was able to reassemble the structure, fuss free which we were hugely appreciative of! Cancelled my marquee request with 9 months notice. Refused to give refund. This was £800 also so not even a little amount of money to lose. ** **Update. Hi Ian thanks for your reply. I understand your ts&cs but still want to make people aware your large deposits are non-refundable. I run my own wedding event hire company, and can't believe you won't be able to re-sell a rather popular date within 10 months I'll be very surprised if you don't. Very poor standards, structures were not securely setup and when I called Ian he accepted his error said he would return to sort it out but nobody turned up. Called him many times after all calls and messages were ignored. Very poor lighting was provided and not what was agreed and charged for. The marquee was supposed to be bolted down but this wasnt done despite being charged for it. What a company! The team set up the marquee for my daughter’s 18th! Couldn’t be happier! Everyone was very impressed with the set up, especially the black and white dance floor. The whole thing was up and down within a few hours whilst I was at work with very little evidence on my lawn. Will definitely be booking them again for our next party! Booked a marquee for my daughters 18th birthday party.
A very efficient service, the team arrived 4 days before the party to erect the marquee so we had plenty of time to get everything ready. No need to decorate the marquee as it was beautiful already with a starlight ceiling, colour changing up lighters and glitter ball.
My daughter had a fantastic party and many of her friends commented how lovely the marquee was.
The team arrived the next day to dismantle the marquee and again were ultra efficient.
I found Ian and the rest of the team very friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend them. A bonus to the great service is the very competitive price they offer. More...

He bent over backwards to ensure we stayed in budget but still delivered high quality. They were a friendly, hardworking team and I could not fault them at all. We used Capital Marquees for a family event in early November. The process of selecting the marquee and home assessment for it was great. However, unfortunately over the weekend with heavy rain and wind the marquee carpet and benches were drenched. We appreciated a marquee not completely flush to a house will alway let in some rain in but the fustration for me was the lack of contact when providing a weekend service. We managed to reach up and pull back a piece of covering the wind had moved but support from Capital Marquee would have been greatly appreciated during this time.Despite a voicemail and urgent email we had to follow up with the company 2 days after removal of the marquee to share our disappointment. Considering full payment is required prior to the event this was really disappointing customer service for something that began so great. More...

The service has been very good indeed - very helpful and accommodating office staff and staff who erected and dismantled the marquee. Someone from Capital Marquees reversed into my wall with their van doing £2k of damage in a hit and run. Despite two witness and evidence, the police did nothing. I had to claim on my insurance which has put up my premiums. More...
