Be warned !!!
Initially a keenly priced quote given assurances and insurance checked out, including reading reviews on this platform. Communication initially easy. Missed arranged date for the start of work which i had scheduled days off for. started two days late. I was working so my wife was overseeing. ??recycled hardcore ??Her complaints were ignored when they were putting drainage in the wrong place requiring my wife giving me an urgent phone call at work. I had to work on a late the following day and although it appeared to be going well in the morning the first team left the workmen to complete. They failed to complete the job leaving missed bricks at the start of the drive using cement as a filler. sand filling the hole where a brick should have been placed. The downpipe was left with sand packed around and not cemented in. But for some bizarre reason they had picked a random line that overshot where the hardcore had been laid and had left a dozen bricks sat on soil and a little cement. ( seen as they attempted to repair the line). Following withholding 20% of the balance. It was agreed they would come back on Monday afternoon to correct the drive . They did not show and did not communicate at all. Insisted on coming on Thursday I had to take a shift off to be there for the morning . They eventually turn up at 11 ( i needed to leave at 12.30) they remedied the overhanging bricks and actually used a line to follow ( This was clearly not used the first time ) fixed some of the other issues but when i left to go to my afternoon shift they then repeated the cement mistake at front of the drive, they brushed some sand in that has since been absorbed leaving gaps between bricks. but the main problem is that the drain is not sealed at the end that butts onto my neighbors house. They also did not remove the pile of rubbish that they had contracted to do .
in-spite of being advised i would be at work numerous calls and messages demanding payment. Including an email threatening £100 daily penalties if payment was not completed in three days.
I replied to the threatening email advising of the issues. Advising them i would seek a professional remedy and that i would not be employing them again.
This led to a flurry of messages which included personal insults and threats.
I quote "if you don't pay by Tuesday I will take the balance back in cost of blocks"
"Pay the balance or I'll take the drive up. Very simple"
I have retained copies of all communications. I have video evidence, of the poor workmanship and finish, More...

Completed a block paving drive in 3 days. Very happy with the finished product
