They were there right from the start until she passed away over Christmas, the nice thing was they had been able to give her one last tidy up when she had passed. I cannot recommened this company enough, they had all become caring friends to myself and mum,and this I'd very important through this dark sad time, I have been in the care profession most of my life, both here and abroad so know good quality care and support when I see it,Blu bird has given that care and high standards as well as giving that vital support through what was for me a dark, time. I worked for this company for 1 month they are a shocking employer, yes very polite and will support you for the first couple of weeks then boom they treat you like something you’ve trod in and work you to the bone. If you say you can’t do that shift they strip you of your work for that week. They are very unprofessional, I had a week off sick due to collapsing and now I’ve received my p45 without any discussion. Within the month of working here I have put over £200 in my tank and put 1300 mile on the clock as the mileage between the calls are horrendous. They make sure you have at least an hour between your calls so they don’t have to pay you the mileage. The mileage you do actually get is nowhere near the amount you put in your tank. I would not recommend this company to work for as it has made 5 carers quite poorly with stress, mental health and physical. Wolverhampton branch is a no no from me More...

Bluebird was incredibly helpful in rapidly providing care in situ at home, and then in assisted living, following a parental stroke. We found the management to be extremely responsive and flexible-to a degree not always found in similar organisations. Amendments and concerns are dealt with immediately. Care staff are very high-quality, often mature people with a natural feel for this kind of work, demonstrating all the essential qualities of personability, competence and attention to detail, flexibility and, most crucially, empathy and kindness. Medical and related notes are logged scrupulously during each visit. I would recommend the organisation very highly indeed. Stephen Rathbone More...

Respite Care
Respite care is usually a short-term package of care from someone who isn’t your loved one's regular carer. Respite care from Bluebird Care would take place in their own home and allow you, as their usual carer, time to rest and take care of yourself so you are better able to take care of them.
At Bluebird Care we understand that for you to provide the very best care to your loved one, you also need to take good care of yourself. Time to rest and recharge is essential, as is having someone you can trust look after your loved one. Our reliable, compassionate care assistants are fully trained, giving you the peace of mind you need to take that much needed break.
How can respite care help me?
By having a trusted care assistant support your loved one you will have that much needed time to take care of yourself. You can tend to your personal errands, have some time out of the house and recharge your batteries both mentally and physically. This added support can help you to take care of yourself, meaning you can take better care of your loved one.
Short breaks can be of great benefit to not just yourself, but also the person you care for. They offer the opportunity to do something a bit different and the chance to meet new people.
Benefits of respite care
There are multiple benefits, not only for yourself, but your loved one as well:
Reduced levels of stress for both you and your loved one, help to maintain a healthy relationship.
Relieved frustrations and possible feelings of resentment.
More time for you to interact with family and friends or the wider community.
Provides you with the opportunity to work, study, have a day-off or even go on holiday.

Companionship care
As we get older, life starts to slow down. At Bluebird Care, we understand that sometimes it can be difficult to plan social activities around your busy schedule. If it’s for yourself or perhaps you have ageing family members nearby, or across the country, it can help just knowing that there is a friendly, caring companion who visits regularly.
Companion care is one of our most requested services. When one of our Bluebird Care care assistants provides companionship care, they become a trusted companion who can keep you or your loved one socially engaged in their own home, and also accompany you or them on visits with friends, family, and to other social events.
At Bluebird Care, our companionship services may cover a wide range of activities where we are able to provide support, for example:
General companionship and conversation
Help with your weekly shopping
Joining in with your favourite hobbies
Help with general domestic tasks (cleaning, laundry etc.)
Help with travel arrangements
Driving you where you would like to go
Arranging and accompanying you to and from appointments
Planning outings and visits
The aim of our companionship services is to ensure that you or your loved ones can lead happy, healthy and stimulating lives in the comfort of their own home or residence.
Night care
Night Care at home is an essential part of our offering at Bluebird Care. Our dedicated team of people work through the night, so that our customers can feel and remain well supported and cared for whatever the time.
Sleeping Night
The care assistant sleeps at the property for a minimum of eight hours and is on hand if required. This option will suit if you don’t require regular support, but feel uncomfortable when left alone throughout the night. Anxieties and sleep deprivation can soon be improved with a sleeping night care professional there to support you. Having that extra night care at home can really help you remain healthy and happy. If assistance is needed more than twice during the night, this will be considered a waking night.
Waking Night
The care professional is on duty throughout the night for a minimum of eight hours. This is the best support option if you or a loved one wakes several times perhaps being disorientated or needing to go to the bathroom. If you wake at regular intervals during the night to change position due to injury, or if you have to administer medication at regular intervals, this is likely to be the best choice for you.
The waking night care professional is there at your side as and when you need them for the duration of the night, providing a high level of expert support.
Promoting independence at home
Staying fit and healthy is an important part of maintaining good mental and physical fitness at any age. If a customer has an interest and ability to participate in local physical activities, our care assistants are able to support them and be involved. Or perhaps a customer may want support to do some simple exercises at home.
Benefits of Physical Activity
A healthy active lifestyle helps stimulate the brain and assists in staying independent. It can also be immensely enjoyable.
Physical activity helps to:
Reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases
Aid management of active problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and high cholesterol
Improve the ability to function and stay independent in cases where people have lung disease or arthritis
Reduce symptoms of depression and pain
Improve balance and prevents falls
We encourage and support our care customers to take part in simple, healthy activities, which may include something as basic as walking or dancing. Of course, participation in any activity will depend on the customer’s choice and abilities. Our care assistants will discuss your preferences with you as part of your care and support plan.
