Lively, fun and fully Brummie. Great for all ages (but expect plenty of 18 year olds on their first night out) it’s both affordable and has good music. A Cozy Gem in Birmingham – 5 Stars All the Way! I recently visited “Barbara’s Bier Haus” in Birmingham, and it was a fantastic experience! The atmosphere is so cozy and welcoming, with different areas offering their own unique vibes. The music is great..lots of familiar tunes. The beer selection is top-notch, and I loved the BEAR.. amazing taste and a great choice for beer lovers. The prices were reasonable, with just the right balance between quality and cost. I also want to give a huge shout-out to Aryaman, the promoter I met there. He was super friendly and made me feel really welcome. He even gave me a discount card, which was such a nice gesture and definitely made me want to come back. The staff was great, and the place was clean and well-kept. Terrible experience. We arrived at the entrance after midnight with a pre-purchased ticket, which clearly stated that entry was guaranteed until 11:30 PM or after if capacity was still available. However, we were told that we needed to repurchase a ticket because entry was only allowed before 11:30 PM (the wording on the ticket was unclear, and capacity was indeed still available as people were still being let in). Once inside, the venue was extremely overcrowded. We were constantly pushed and shoved, and the number of people on the dance floor was far beyond a safe limit, making the place unsafe. Finally, at around 2:30 AM, while dancing, someone in the crowd threw a heavy plastic cup filled with ice, which hit me directly on the head, leaving me with a bump the size of half my head. The choice to use heavy glasses in such a crowded environment significantly increases the risk of serious incidents like this. Overall, the staff was very rude, with the exception of one security guard who was the only person to approach and help me after the incident with the glass. The organization of the venue was highly questionable, as it was clearly overpacked, and serving drinks in heavy glasses in such a packed space should not be allowed. Didn't have food. But me and my friend got there, it was dead. We were all dressed up and we had decided to just sit at a table to get our bearings. When ordering drinks the staff or the individual who served me was quite offish, I ordered an alcoholic drink for myself and just a soft drink for my friend as she doesn't drink. They gave me a dirty look and asked me if i knew one of the drinks I was ordering was alcoholic like I was a child. Then when deciding to leave the security weren't the best, and we're shouty and just unfriendly. We were hoping to have a good time here but we were let down. Won't be coming again. More...
