I used Paul Fretwell and the Team at ASL to get planning permission for an innovative 21st century ancillary building within the curtilage of a listed building. Paul was extremely dedicated and diligent: not only did he come up with a brilliant building design which enhanced the character of the listed building. he helped through the listed building consent process, which along with the planning application process itself, can be quite stressful. How can someone tell if their Garage is suitable for conversion?
Most garages are suitable for conversion with some creative thinking to overcome the issues involved. Dont forget that you are likely to want a warm, dry building at the end of the day and this therfore needs thought in terms of both overall insulation of the building and also the floor build up. How can someone tell if their loft is suitable for conversion?
The main issue relating to the practicality of a loft conversion generally relates to both adequate headroom and the stuctural adequcy of the existing roof.
