Counselling

Josh was down to earth in our first session, it was face to face and comfortable. The staff where he works out of where also welcoming. I felt at ease and there was no pressure. I am continuing with our sessions weekly for now. I would recommend 👍 More...

Q&As

I am down to earth, straight talking and solution focused. I have been working with children, adolescents and adults for a decade and I am confident in supporting individuals and families in times of need. I have vast experience both clinically, and personal, across many sectors which makes my approach's unique and together we can secure positive results for your mental health. I am an active listener and constantly will use my depth of knowledge in real world scenarios to help and achieve the best possible results. I take great pride in my work and am very proud to have helped so many people. I am trained in various psychotherapies and blend them in a unique way. I am not your classic text book, hence I emphasis working towards real solutions for you or a loved one.

Honestly, it was the feedback I would receive from clients and their families. The red tape surrounding so many of these, much needed, services drove me to leave my full time position as a senior nurse delivering individual talking therapies to start Archers Mental Health Care.
I am confident I can achieve the results that so many are seeking.
People don't want long waiting lists, frustration and lack of communication.
Hence I created this so I can offer my services to help as many individuals and families as possible.

I have years of experience however more importantly is my ability to analyse and support you with solution focused, blended and down to earth techniques. I offer a free telephone consultation so you can review me before committing to anything. I am confident that yourself or a loved one will feel comfortable and would have found a professional that you can trust. Throughout my career I have worked in operating theatres, prisons, forensics, CAMHS, paediatrics and many other areas. I have supported people and families from many different backgrounds and cultures. Much of my journey has been with children and families and this is where much of my feedback has come to set up Archers Mental Health Care. I have an ability to adapt and navigate any situation. I have done talks at universities and events. I have won awards for projects I have completed with NHS England. I am now taking all of that experience to focus on my passion and deliver results to you and your loved ones.
I would like to add that I am down to earth, approachable and relatable.
If you have received therapeutic support before and it wasn't the right fit for you I wish to assure that I am unique and will support you or your loved ones with the up most care and respect.

I do believe that in-person can achieve more positive outcomes due to my approach of alternative communication when necessary. For example using illustrations and live mind-mapping, however, with ever improving technology I feel confident to also deliver affective, solution-focused and down to earth, tailored approaches remotley so I am able to support you, or a loved one, if you are unable to commute to Braintree in Essex. I want you to be able to access my support in the least restrictive manner so I do offer both options.

With many years of experience in senior mental health care roles, I offer honest, down-to-earth talking therapy for adults and young people—available face-to-face or online. This is a safe, confidential space to talk things through, with no judgment, no pressure, and no clinical jargon.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low, or just need someone to really listen, I’m here. I also specialise in supporting neurodiversity, addiction, trauma, and those navigating tough life changes or complex challenges.

What I offer:

One-to-one talking therapy (in person or online)

A flexible, human approach rooted in real-world experience

Support for a range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and neurodivergent needs (including ASD and ADHD)

Straightforward support, in your own words, at your own pace

Let’s keep it simple: If you’re ready to talk, I’m here.

I provide compassionate, one-to-one mental health support for children, young people, and families. As a qualified and experienced mental health nurse and therapist, I offer tailored services including mental health assessments, talking therapies (CBT, person-centred, trauma-informed), neurodiversity-informed support for ASD and ADHD, early years intervention, crisis support, and family-focused work. My approach is flexible, evidence-based, and rooted in genuine solutions.

I provide non-judgemental, person-centred support for individuals affected by addiction. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, or behavioural addictions, I understand the complexity of dependency and the impact it can have on every area of life. Drawing on my clinical background and therapeutic experience, I offer tailored interventions that meet people where they are—whether they’re seeking harm reduction, preparing for change, or maintaining recovery. I am confident I can help.

Anxiety is fear of the unknown and affects anyone, at every age—and it often shows up in ways that feel overwhelming or difficult to explain. I offer compassionate, evidence-based support to help you manage your anxiety and regain a sense of control. Whether it is generalised anxiety, panic attacks, social anxiety, or health-related worries, I work to explore the root causes and develop personalised coping strategies. Online or in person. I am here and waiting to help.

At Archers Mental Health Care, I offer a safe and supportive space to help you manage your anger in a healthy, constructive way. I understand how overwhelming anger can feel, and together we’ll explore the root causes and develop practical strategies to regain control. You don’t have to face it alone — I’m here to help you feel more balanced, calm, and in charge of your emotions. When your ready, please get in touch.

Depression is a heavy fog—draining motivation, disrupting sleep, and making even simple tasks feel unmanageable. I provide a safe, supportive space to explore these feelings and begin the journey toward healing. I work with all ages to understand the underlying causes of low mood and emotional numbness, offering personalised support through therapies such as CBT, person-centred counselling, and behavioural activation. My aim is to help clients reconnect with hope and rebuild their confidence.

Grief is a deeply personal journey that can affect every part of life—emotionally, physically, and mentally. I offer a compassionate, non-judgemental space for children, young people, and adults to process loss in their own time and in their own way. Whether the bereavement is recent or long ago, I support clients in exploring their feelings, making sense of their grief, and finding ways to live with the loss. Through gentle, person-centred therapy. Taking that first step together.
