This hotel was chosen literally as a pit stop overnight but was actually quite good. After the initial problem of where all the light switches were (theyre on the headboard hidden behind the cushions and pillows) the stay was very comfortable. The bed was generous and comfortable and the shower was hot. Depending on your inclination and fitness Birmingham city centre was a 40 minute walk or you can catch a 12 bus from the Hagley Road. There is an Ask, TGI Fridays and a Beefeater literally within 5 minutes walk and plenty of other restaurants in the vicinity. Dont expect luxury. The building is tired and badly in need of a facelift but if you just need somewhere to lay your head in a convenient location with plenty of parking with pleasant staff then this is fine. More...

Having read some horrendous reviews of this hotel on here after booking I had the fear over our impending stay. I’m glad to say these were inaccurate. It’s not the Ritz but for the price it’s decent accommodation. We had a triple room and it was a good location for us for the cricket at Edgbaston. The room was clean, staff helpful, breakfast was good and reasonably priced. We would stay there again. More...
