What do you love most about your job?
I love that the service I provide means that different human beings from different backgrounds are able to understand each other because I invested time in becoming fluent in another language. The fact that you translate and interpret for people is inspiring, because it means that they can achieve their goals - whether they be business or personal - and it's because you helped them to do it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It came from when I was living in Lyon and I saw so many translations which didn't make sense in English. You could tell they had either been done by someone who used Google Translate, or someone who was a native French speaker who didn't fully understand the nuances of English. I define myself by the fact I'm a linguist, but apart from that, I'm a real fan of making sure that information is conveyed accurately. Think of me as a kind of linguistic journalist - I want to make sure the message is conveyed accurately, and that it makes sense in grammar terms to as many people as possible!
Why should our clients choose you?
I think clients should choose me because I always offer top customer service and I bring a wealth of expertise not just about the French language itself, but also about the culture and customs of France, and also a very extensive knowledge about French and English grammar, which is always handy for those clients who need things translating into English!
I'm also a calm person by nature, and this coupled with my friendly personality means I'll always get the job done to a high standard. My favourite motto is 'Get things done - even when it's difficult, especially when it's difficult!'
Translation
I offer translation services from French to English, interpreting between French and English and transcription services in English and French. I can also offer administrative support with preparing bundles of documents using professional software, and editing documents as per client requirements.
