I followed a more unconventional route when learning how to coach for Triathlon. I decided to see how the best athletes in the world were training rather than just listening only to coaching course tutors. This has given me a brilliant network, real world knowledge and skills that I use to benefit all levels of athletes from total beginners to those chasing their pro licence (and are well on their way to getting it).

Ali is such a brilliant coach. He immediately puts you at ease and is so friendly and kind, not to mention knowledgeable. He goes to a lot of effort to make sure everyone gets individual feedback during the Ali is a great coach—friendly, approachable, and knowledgeable

Since joining his sessions, my swimming technique has improved, and I’ve started enjoying the sport again after years of being put off by the competitive atmosphere and strict coaching styles.

Ali has transformed our swimming in just a few sessions! His friendly and relaxed approach to coaching has made our swimming so enjoyable and rewarding. Ali has taken the time to listen and understand our goals, our anxieties and what we want to get out of our coaching. I would trust and recommend Ali to anyone, whether they want to overcome a fear of swimming, just improve their technique or swim competitively, and we will definitely continue our swim journey with him! Triathlon Coaching
I don’t think words can do Ali’s coaching justice. He has a ridiculous amount of knowledge in the sport and knows exactly how to push you to achieve your goals whilst adapting it to chaotic schedules. He is also just a genuinely wonderful and supportive person to work with. Highly recommend, finding a coach half as good as him would be lucky! More...

Ali is an awesome swim coach! I can’t recommend him highly enough. His friendly, supportive and engaging personality have really helped keep me going. Ali tailors his sessions for each individual and gives 1:1 advice. Ali has transformed my swimming from 2:05/100m to 1:51/100m for a mile in around 6 months of fortnightly coaching. More...

I been working with Ali since 2019, I started working towards my running goals first which I have achieved sub 40 10k, sub 1. 30 half then I changed my goals and decided to do trialthon, very scary goal for me as I wasn't a confident swimmer or cyclist so we worked hard and I achieved to complete a few trialthons and and first 70.3 last year. Ali not just a coach he also very good off understanding mental health and my condition I have endometriosis, I had many coach's who didn't really understand or got funny when my condition flared but Ali is very good and when needed adapted my training. I have grown as a althete under Ali guidance. More...

I feel my confidence has grown in taking on swimming which is down to Ali providing me with the right coaching and information.
I totally recommend anyone trying to get into triathlon to give abc coaching a try!

Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia & chronic pain when I was 20, I felt like I'd pretty much lost any hope of improving my fitness and health. But within a short space of time, Ali has already helped me realise that I can make progress, gently pushing my limits and confidence. My mindset also continues to improve with Ali's advice, invaluable knowledge and experience. More...

Although I’m not a triathlete Ali has helped me enormously with my running form and consistency…. And more recently my swimming technique which I have always struggled with. In just 2 sessions I made massive improvements! He’s a great communicator and adapts sessions to get the best from every individual. I always leave a session feeling I’ve accomplished something! Knowledgeable non pushy (for me at least) coach. Great swim and run sessions
Reply from Ali Brown Coaching
Cheers Andy, and yea I only "push" those who want/need/ask for it. It's not the best approach for everyone that's for sure. Pleasure to have you in the team, you are doing great :-)

Ali is a fantastic coach and genuinely a really thoughtful and supportive person. He has tailored his coaching to match my level of fitness and to meet my objectives - rather than a 'one plan fits all'. He also coaches my daughters and pitches the level of training to engage and encourage them to achieve their goals. More...

Appreciate the feedback Julian. It certainly creates a lot more work for me with a different plan for each individual, but as you say, it's the only way to coach effectively :)

What do you love most about your job?
Seeing the progress made by people who I have helped and watching them complete events or challenges knowing that I helped them on their journey, it bring me a lot of satisfaction.
What inspired you to start your own business?
The autonomy and freedom to work with no strings and to help people without any outside pressures or working for an organisation.
Why should our clients choose you?
If they want to and if they want to "grab the bull by the horns" and really see some improvements. I provide as much information as I can, via my website, via my podcast and I try to let the results and progress of the people I coach do the talking for me.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
I provide most of my services online and remotely. Clients often message me on a daily basis, and we use a training app for me to plan their training. There are in-person sessions every week in Worcester, UK. But if people cannot attend those, we use video to look at form. I have never met some clients that I work with, yet they are doing really well via online/remote coaching.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We used video a lot more to check form and ensure people are doing the swim/bike/run correctly, and we still do this now.
Bespoke Training Plans
This option is ideal for someone who wants a bespoke training plan written for them, but does not want to commit to the Online Coaching process. Ali will read your written feedback at the end of each week before planning out the next, this is once the athlete answers some initial questions about their training so far, availability to train, what access to facilities they have and what they'd like to achieve.
Training plans can be ideal for triathletes or runners, or someone wanting to focus on one aspect of their training more than others (stimulus training). Plans can be written for beginner to professional athletes and follow a simple and easy to follow training method.
Have a read of the athlete reviews to see how the current athletes have got on using this service and if you have any questions or would like to discuss further, please book a call with Ali.
Training Plans are £150 per month.
Online Coaching
Online Coaching can help those who have progressed a little on their own, but now need help to reach the next level. It can help you get the most out of yourself and reach your potential. It provides structure, routine and quality that can fit around busy or demanding lives. It delivers progressive and considered training that is planned and written just for you. You are unique and so is the training I design for you. It gives you professional support and guidance on a day-to-day basis and a coach who has your back where there are no questions off-limits. It gives you a confidential and safe space to give honest feedback which is vital to the getting the best out of you - we all need to be in an environment that we can thrive in, it is my job to try to create that for everyone I coach.
I work with athletes who are chasing big dreams and trying to get to the top. I also work with athletes who shudder at the thought of themselves being called an athlete. What does being an athlete even mean?! I coach a very wide range of ability level. Some are stupidly competitive and will not rest till they are victorious, some have no interest whatsoever in racing but value the process and the improvement it brings to their physical and mental health, others are in the middle and want to improve their times at certain events and equally value the benefit to their every day life that training brings.
We use video to check form and look at 'how' you are training. Then exactly 'what' you need to do will be planned out for you on the training app. You will have unlimited coach contact via use of WhatsApp. This coaching option has proven to be very successful with the impact and progress on athletes lives being substantial. If you have any questions or would benefit from a chat, book a call with Ali.
Online Coaching is £250-450 per month dependant on coaching input.
