What do you love most about your job?
I love working with clients helping them to grow their businesses. I get great satisfaction from solving problems creatively and enjoy getting to know my clients and their businesses. I think I'm good at seeing the big picture and distilling problems down to their essentials and suggesting practical solutions.
What inspired you to start your own business?
For me, setting up my first business almost 30 years ago, one of the things that drove me to leave my secure job was that I didn’t want my working life to be governed by structures and routine.
I realised one of the things that would make me happier was freedom or at least a sense of freedom. Freedom to choose what I wanted to do, who I wanted to work with and to do it the way I wanted to do it.
The very fact I thought I could see my career laid out before me following a similar pattern to my colleagues filled me with dread! I wanted my working life to make me happy, or at least not make me sad!
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm personable, energetic and a good communicator. I'm quick to get to the root of the issue and I'm focused on pragmatic solutions. I have a lot of very practical business experience spanning 30 years. I've set up many businesses some successful and others not. I've dealt with most of the issues that face start ups and small businesses. I've learnt a lot and distilled that knowledge into a smart, focused approach to helping your business grow and thrive.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Yes, happy to work online and face-to-face. I have been working online for much of the last 18 months but am now seeing more clients in person. Online is great but the occasional meeting face-to-face is great.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
Following all advice, continuing to wear a mask in public places and when travelling and working mostly online.

Negotiation and Mediation
Sometimes it helps to have somebody at your side (and on your side) when negotiating. I have a lot of experience of negotiating and take a very practical approach to resolving issues. It's often too easy for each party to misunderstand each other and fall out - I believe that most problems can be sorted by smart, patient negotiation. I have dealt with creditors, clients, tax, mergers, leases, staff - most of the issues you face in over 30 years in business.
