Duncan went to a great deal of trouble, effort and thought into producing the perfect backdrop for very personal items of my Father's from the war. He did them great justice. Absolutely perfect results. Extremely happy. More...

Duncan has worked on a number of projects with me from headshots, website material, funeral memorial service sheet design and home photos for Spare Room. Duncan always delivers what he said he would. His calm, creative approach with his keen eye and bit of quirkiness for the unusual is the reason Duncan is my go to photographer. More...

Duncan came to photograph our house, which is a large property in Maidenhead. He took some fantastic photos and his attention to detail was remarkable. The photographs truly reflected the character of the property and his work ethic was outstanding. Nothing was too much bother for him and the day he shot the photos was particularly hot so all the more praise for his work ethic. I would definitely use him again and highly recommend him. General Photography

My experience with Duncan was great from start to finish.
His price was very competitive.
He was very professional and photographed the whole house and garden, he went to every effort to make sure it was looking it's best.
The photographs were fantastic, I am so so happy with them, they couldn't be better.
He has really captured the house well and made it look big, bright and welcoming. Perfect to attract guests through my website.
He also had all the great kit for photographing houses and made helpful suggestions about how to arrange ornaments etc. to really get the best out of the house. He also touched up some photos and was even able to edit a car out of the shot seamlessly.
Last year I used a different photographer and the photos weren't nearly as good.
I will definitely use Duncan again, his photos will add a lot of value to my business.
I understand he also does different types of photography too.
I highly recommend Duncan and he was very nice to work with as well as prompt responses and photo delivery. And most importantly fantastic photos.

Q&As

The secret in taking a great photograph really begins with the training, the amount of experience and the creative flair a photographer possesses. Creating a stunning image from an incredibly mundane subject is an art. Making the most of a product or a place or portraying a person which truly represents them, comes down to a genuine empathy for who or what is being photographed combined with great composition and lighting. I trained at the prestigious Blackpool College of Art where I spent 3 amazing years learning the basics of my craft. I had the best tutors - all highly skilled and creative photographers themselves - so I learned from the very best. Combining over 25 years spent working and living in the business of photography; having photographed just about anything you might care to think; in many different parts of the world, all adds up to delivering the secret of great photography every time.

The most important questions I always ask my clients fall into two categories, namely purpose and the practicalities involved.
PURPOSE:
Precisely what are their photographs going to be used for?
What do they need their photographs to achieve?
Where are they going to be used?
When are they needed?

PRACTICALITIES:
Where are the photographs to be taken ?
When?
Have you a budget?
Is quality more important than budget or are both equally as important?

It's the endless variety and stimulation that I love most about being a professional photographer. I was never going to be suited to a routine 9-5 office job. I love working in different environments, meeting new people and rising up to the challenge of creating the images that my clients love. I get huge buzz from creating great imagery out of challenging situations where there are no obvious solutions! When clients tell me how much they love the photographs I create for them - the sense of satisfaction I get from that is immense!

I turned pro at the age of 19 and have never stopped working in the industry. My profession has, over the years, given me opportunities and experiences I could never have imagined. From working in the Ministry of Defence photographing all sorts of weird things military in the west of Scotland; to running my own photography studio in London; to working all over the Caribbean, Scandinavia, Russia, South Africa; the West Coast of America, Hawaii and Alaska. These experiences only came about due to my love of photography. For me, it's the best job in the world!

It sounds like an obvious cliché, but in my case, it is true to say that photography has always been in my blood. I first picked up a camera when I was only 14 years old. My first camera was a Kodak Compact 126 format film camera. Those were the days when you had to post your film away to be processed and printed. That would take over a week in many cases. How things have changed! Back then the changes in photographic technology and capability which have happened since, were far beyond our wildest dreams, fantasies or imagination.

The inspiration? -The enjoyment and pleasure that I have always had creating exciting images. I started my formal education in photography at the age of 16 joining a Saturday morning class at The Storey Institute in Lancaster, Lancashire. That was followed by taking Photography as an GCSE at school. Following my A Level's, I was delighted to be accepted by the prestigious Blackpool & Fylde College of Art to undertake a 3 year Professional Qualifying Examination in Photography, graduating with Merit.
That feeling has ever left me - even after more than 25 years. Once a photographer - always a photographer!

I think that my 100% 5* ratings on both my Bark Review page and more so on my Google Business Review page tells you what you need to know. You will find that my clients mostly say the same thing. That I produce great work for them every time. That they love the fact that they have the complete confidence in me to get the job done. You’ll find me friendly, with an optimistic outlook, and a sense of humour where appropriate. I work swiftly, with a confidence and skill that comes from having been in most of the scenarios a pro photographer can find themselves in. Ii use the latest technology and software. I am also an experienced, fully licenced and accredited Drone Pilot, Photographer & Videographer. I routinely created promo videos for my client and have recently started producing training videos for some of my clients. Distance is not an issue. I have had assignments that have taken me all over the UK, Ireland, and most recently Amsterdam. I particularly enjoy working in environments where the opportunity to create great, creative photographs don't appear to exist - in other words pulling photographic rabbits out of the hat and making a kind of magic happen. I take great pride in my work and no job is too small or too large, so whatever your budget, give me a call or send me an email to make some great photography happen. Other equally great reasons too choose me is that I possess over 30 years of experience; I am fully insured for Public Liability & Professional Indemnity; CRB Checked and I am a fully licensed and qualified Drone Pilot.

Clients include and have included, Highways Agency; Historical Railways Estate; Capture Property Marketing; Savills & Knight-Frank Estate Agencies; Ford New Holland, Lever Brothers, Skanska, Unigroup USA, Bourne's of Rye, Carillion Communications, WJ Group, the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society (NRAS), the All Around Agency, McMillan Nurses and Clement Windows to name but a few.

Famous people and celebrities? There have been a few. I have been very fortunate to photograph the late HRH The Queen Mother, Sir Richard Branson and the great British Explorer, Sir Rannulph Fiennes, not to mention the late ex British Prime Minister, Lord 'Jim' Callaghan, ex French President, Valerie Giscard-d'Estaing and the late German Chancellor, Herr Willy Brandt. Most recently I was honoured to be asked to photograph HRH Camilla Queen Consort at a charity function in London.

I always operate according to the latest UK Government guidelines. When photographing people - I use long lenses to photograph them which enables me to maintain social distancing; I always wear a mask and with frequent use of anti bacterial hand gel, I ensure that I am minimising the risk of passing on any infection. When photographing a property interior, I also wear protective gloves and wipe down any surface I may have touched. I am also fully vaccinated.
