Paul created a series of fantastic, modern and engaging corporate videos for our company, Speechy. He was a dream to work with; good fun, helpful, and a total perfectionist! He styled our location as well as lighting it and gave helpful feedback and suggestions to us as we presented to camera. We're delighted with the final results. Would highly recommend Paul. More...

I can honestly say my brother is a top notch photographer and, let’s be honest, a sage like figure in my life. Thanks to him as a 7(? ) year old lad buying an origami book at a jumble sale I’ve finally discovered the joy of geometric origami. You’re a legend dave More...

I contacted Paul to enquire about commissioning him for a surprise family portrait session for my Mum's 60th birthday. Right from the start Paul was great. Knowledgeable, professional and personable, and was fantastic in suggesting some locations around Bath to do the shoot. Spent plenty of time on the day making sure that everything was right, and the end result was some brilliant photos. No quibbling about price or limiting the number of images we got, just what I was looking for. I would book Paul again in a heartbeat. More...

This is the second time Lizzie has completed a complete brand design for me. Each time Lizzie has been fantastic at helping us go from just a couple of vague ideas to final designs. Would really recommend Elle dee pea design to others. More...

I had a wonderful time working with Paul on a series of publicity shots for my new website. I'm usually very uncomfortable about having my photograph taken and was apprehensive on the day, but he was so easy to work with, relaxed and good-humoured that he really brought out the best in me. I'm delighted with the results.

I lead a tech start-up business and needed a decent photograph for online profiles, biogs and our company website. The great thing about my experience with Paul was that he spent the time getting to know me and that really put me at ease when it came to setting up a photo and actually doing the shot. Paul was thorough and made sure I was happy with the images before he left. The after service was great too and he got the images to me online really quickly and offered to make any required changes. I would recommend Paul to anyone who is looking for a professional who can accomplish a variety of styles and is willing top lead and give direction to make sure he gets the right shot. More...

Q&As

I love my job!

It’s such a pleasure to work on the many varied projects which have come my way over the last 19 years as a professional photographer.

I majored in Photography as part of my BA Hons Graphic Design degree in Derby which I graduated from in 1995. Since then I’ve been working as a photographer, graphic designer and videographer.

Bristol and the SW

Since moving to the South West around 20 years ago, I now proudly work with many clients including National Grid, Channel 4, Burges Salmon and various charities including Parkinson’s UK and Comic Relief to name a few.

Graphic Design & the importance of composition

I like to think that my graphic design knowledge is an important part of my photography and video work. I love working with clients, art directors, picture editors and designers and I like to think that I can understand their photographic needs in relation to a specific usage or layout very quickly. This comes in very useful when studio time is tight or the sun is setting and we need to get that last shot of the day in the bag.
Company

Whilst actually taking on my first commercial jobs in 2004, I’ve been working as a full time photographer since 2005. I’m now very much enjoying creating videos for my clients, too.

Exhibitions

I have had several photography exhibitions including featuring birds of prey one at The Tobacco Factory, Bristol in 2015, which celebrated ten years of being a full time professional photographer, and more recently at a private gallery and Under The Edge Arts, Wotton which used a local swimming pool as inspiration, whilst carrying on my fascination with birds of prey.

Home life

I live with my wife and family in Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire. It’s a great location as it’s only around 30 minutes from major cities like Bristol and Cheltenham. It allows me to work all around the South, Midlands and South Wales with ease. I often travel further afield and have been working in Scotland and Ireland recently.

I have always loved photography from a young age and majored in it on my Art Foundation Course and on my Graphic Design degree at University.

I'm friendly and easy to work with and love getting the most out of photo sessions for my clients.

I need to be in person to take photographs, but can edit videos for clients remotely easily.
