I am an experienced counsellor in a successful private practice who can offer you the opportunity to explore and work through difficulties that you may be encountering within a safe, comfortable and containing environment. From an empathic, trained perspective, we can work through issues and anxieties together to develop a greater understanding of yourself and the relationships you have both personally and work related.
When you have problems or are in distress it helps to talk about it and there is plenty of evidence to suggest that psychological therapy works. Counselling is not about giving advice. It is about enabling you, the client, to find your own path to address the cause of the problem and not just treat the symptoms.
As a member of the BACP I am committed to working to their ethical code and guidelines. This includes the rule of confidentiality where no details will be given to a third party (e.g. employer, doctor or anybody else) except in exceptional circumstances such as child protection.
Areas I work with include:
Lack of confidence • Abortion • Infertility • Depression • Anxiety • Loss of direction, identity or purpose • Difficulties in sustaining relationships • Family dynamics • Sexual, physical and emotional abuse • Bereavement and other losses • Physical illness • Difficulty in expressing feelings • Loneliness • Relationship issues • Issues relating to abuse or unhappiness in childhood • Stress • Stress at work • Panic attacks
If you are wondering whether counselling may be able to make a difference we can explore together whether therapy is right for you. At an initial consultation we can discuss what kind of help you are seeking and whether you might feel comfortable for us to work together.
