What is Loco?
Established in 1994 as a boutique post production facility, Loco has grown into a full service creative house providing moving imagery for the advertising, digital, film and broadcast industries. At Loco, we prefer to say we work with not for our clients, so we coined the phrase “co-create” to express that ethos. We work together to help our clients harness the essence of their idea and take it through every stage of production, from inception to completion and delivery.

We embrace technology but are not defined by it, favouring a creative approach that is fostered in a friendly environment. We give each project the care and attention it deserves; we call it Loco Love.

Colour Grading, DI & Film Services
Loco provides state of the art grading, in a large and comfortable suite with broadcast calibrated monitoring for the ultimate viewing experience. Linked to our large 4GB fibre-connected SAN for fast interaction between VFX, 3D, edit, and grade, the space is a hub for real-time colour grading and mastering of commercials, documentaries, promos, feature films, and shorts. Our colourists are highly regarded within the field for their expertise, artistic flair, and creativity. NME & Adidas – Loco’s motion graphics for NMD trainer event at Future House
Those arbiters of cool, NME magazine, invited Loco’s motion graphics team to create a collection of on-screen content as part of their collaboration with Adidas Originals to celebrate the launch of the new range of NMD trainers. Our video art was to be shown at the BL-NK warehouse in Shoreditch, an experimental pop-up venue called Future House. Adidas took over the space for six days and nights to celebrate and inspire London’s creative talent as well as tie in with the NMD range—a shoe for the urban nomad and the next creative generation. Loco’s design team took the NME logo as a starting point for their series of hypnotic kaleidoscopes, tripped out logos and neon Matrix-style visuals. These were pieced together with scratchy effects, dead space, white noise and VHS-type glitches to create a loop that would play for the 6-hour show. To fit the brief, our Creatives’ graphics also needed to work well with the Adidas brand and the dystopian set design of the warehouse space. Inspiration struck quickly, and our team delivered the finished motion graphics within a couple days of receiving the commission. The site itself consists of two floors draped in foliage, tin foil, graffiti and neon lighting, which serve as a backdrop for the series of performances and workshops in music, fashion, art and design. Some of the coolest new British artists, designers and musicians with a future-forward ethos, aka Generation Nomad, front the campaign. NME’s co-sponsored Friday night featured performances from Blossoms, Crows and Phil Taggart. The event runs 17th – 22nd March 2016. Crowd Funding Promotional Film for Beany Green

Beany Green, the successful independent coffee and food group approached Loco to make a short promotional film to launch their call for investors. In the history of Crowdcube funding, Bondi Bond was among the top three fastest Bond investments they’d ever experienced. Although the planned period for fundraising was over 45 days, Beany Green exceeded its minimum amount within 24 hours; the total figure of £800,000 was raised in an astonishing 6 days! The very personalised, powerful and engaging delivery from co-founder Prue Freeman couldn’t really have been achieved through any other medium than film. Which is why it was considered one of the main factors in achieving their great success in attracting investors over such a short time frame. Prue was keen for potential investors to fully understand her background and business plan but most of all, her enthusiasm and passion. She wrote the script with additional input and guidance from Loco’s Creatives. The film focuses on key aspects of Beany Green’s healthy offerings while highlighting the distinctly different sites. Loco’s production crew filmed over two days at four of the branch locations. Further filming in New Covent Garden allowed us to show the extensive range of fresh produce they buy on a daily basis. Loco’s post-production team continued to work closely with Prue to craft together the engaging footage along with motion graphic designs that would communicate the relevant business statistics to potential investors. UK Music Video Awards
2015 marks Loco’s seventh year as the postproduction partner for the UK Music Video Awards. With over 30 categories encompassing a wide range of genres, crafts, talents, and budgets, the UK MVAs celebrate the best of British and international music videos. Adam Buxton, comedian, broadcaster and regular host of BUG, the bi-monthly Music Video night, presented the show at The Roundhouse in Camden. Loco’s Jon Davey, Arlene Dignam, Emily Ledger and Liam Hawe worked Dignam worked closely with Nadya Jones and Louise Stevens of Ballistic Events to manage the flood of video submissions from the shortlisted entries and edit them into the category packages for projection onto the big screen. Jon Davey also collaborated with David Knight of Promo News to create the opening montage. On the night, Arlene Dignam took to the stage to give out the award for Best Rock/ Indie video to Directors David Wilson and Christy Karacas for Royal Blood “Out of the Black”. The UKMVA’s coincided with the return of MusicVidFest, a one-day conference about the key topics affecting the craft and business of music videos. The event included pitching and production panel sessions, a cinematography master class and some exclusive research on online music video consumption. Remember A Charity Extreme Will Writers
If you’re going to parachute out of an airplane, you had better have a Will ready. So, what better way to raise awareness for “Remember a Charity in your Will Week” than to make a film about the Extreme Will Writers Club, signing their Wills thousands of feet in the air? Loco was thrilled to help Atomic call attention to this great cause (without ever having to leave the ground). Atomic’s Creatives briefed Loco’s production and post team with their vision for the films, which take influence from The Thomas Crown Affair (1968) and the title sequence from Snatch as well as Robbie Williams’s music video Extreme. We arranged a 3-camera shoot to capture as many of the sights and sounds of this exciting day as well as record interviews with some of the Extreme Will Writers. The unpredictability of the weather and the health and safety requirements of a working airfield meant our crew had to be responsive, quick thinking and flexible to cover Atomic’s shot list. Combining our rushes with footage from cameras mounted on the skydiving instructors as well as the plane itself gave our editors plenty of options for the stylised split-screen look of the main film. Loco VFX editor/ colourist Jon Davey worked his magic in the grading suite to further enhance the classic retro look of the films.
