L1CounsellingCertificate of Excellence 2019
Liverpool, Merseyside(24 Reviews)
Hi my name is Debbie and I am a fully qualified BACP registered person-centred counsellor and psychotherapist. I work at Rodney Street Liverpool City Centre. I also offer telephone counselling and counselling via SKYPE.
Throughout our lives we experience difficulties that we may find hard to deal with. Knowing that you are not on your own and talking through your emotions can be helpful. I offer a supportive and empathic approach to create a confidential, respectful and safe environment for my clients to explore areas of their life that may be preventing them from moving forward and getting the best out of life.
Some people come to me with known problems and others just know that they need to speak to someone but are not sure why. This is completely normal. Deciding to see a counsellor can be a difficult decision, but there is nothing to lose by coming to counselling and potentially everything to gain.
I offer a free consultation over the phone or face to face which enables you to decide if I am the right counsellor for you. I offer both short term counselling (around 6 sessions) and longer term counselling. During our first session we can look at what you feel is right for you and this can be reviewed throughout our work together to ensure that the therapy is working for you.
I have experience of working with a wide range of issues such as anxiety, abuse, addictions, adoption issues, anger management, bereavement, cancer, depression, divorce, health related issues, identity, loss, personal development, redundancy, relationships, self-esteem, self-harm, sexual identity, sexuality, stress. I also have experience of working in a variety of settings.
As a member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) I am listed on the BACP register for Counsellors and psychotherapists. I receive regular supervision giving you reassurance that I am an ethical practitioner. I also carry professional indemnity Insurance. I also regularly attend CPD (continuing professional development) events to ensure I am up to date and knowledgeable in all areas of counselling and psychotherapy theory and practice.

What do you love most about your job?
I love helping others and its so rewarding to see a client when they first come for counselling compared with when they leave. Its so cliché but it really is a journey and I am happy and honoured to be part of that with you.
What inspired you to start your own business?
From being younger I have always wanted to be a therapist and I am really proud to be working at Rodney Street Liverpool.
Why should our clients choose you?
I think I am really down to earth yet experienced and qualified. I offer a free no obligation half hour initial session to see if I am the right counsellor for you. If you prefer this can be combined as part of a full session which would then be half price for a client who is ready to go ahead and wants to get started.
