My boyfriend and I went for a Christmas lunch at the Hotel Du Vin restaurant and we had a lovely time. We were placed at the window where we had amazing views of The Scores and the beach. The food was very nice as well; we had liver pate and brioche bread, and pear and goat cheese salad as starters. They were very nice and well presented. As for mains, we both had stuffed turkey with vegetables. We also had a small pig in blanket on top. It was very very nice! Would definitely recommend this Chirstmas!||As a bonus, we got Christmas crackers which was fun to pass the waiting time. More...

We enjoyed a lovely stay at Hotel du Vin in Winchester for the Christmas markets, with our beloved dog. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I highly recommend seeking out Jose in the dinning room. I gave him Carte Blanche for one of my dinners because of his suggestions the previous night. You will not go wrong. The rest of the staff are no different on how they treat you. At any given time I was always asked how my day was/is and if I needed anything. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. More...

Wonderful 2 nights stay after a beautiful, scenic rail journey from Newcastle. Great location with sea views, a relaxed atmosphere and close to restaurants and shops. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Thank you to Alistair and Judith on Reception, Hayley and the very knowledgeable Ross in the Bar and Daniel in the Restaurant. There was a wide range of Continental and Cooked food at Breakfast. Very much enjoyed by the University Student relative who joined us! Looking forward to a second visit. More...

I loved this hotel. Beautiful location and room was lovely. Breakfast was tasty with traditional Scottish food that was lovely. Staff were welcoming and gracious.||||My only concern is that the smoke alarm is overly sensitive and I set it off with my hair dryer - for the entire hotel! I was horrified but later that night someone else set it off at 11:30 - which would have scared me had it not happened previously. There was no announcement either time about what happened and that the alarm was clear; it just stopped blaring. ||||Assuming that the smoke alarm is corrected, I have no hesitation about visiting again. We arrived at the hotel on a windy and rainy afternoon, just after 3:00pm checkin time. The reception was busy with a wedding party spread out throughout the area. |I had booked dinner, bed and breakfast through Booking.com as a birthday treat for my partner. The receptionist was very friendly as she attempted to book us in over the background noise of the wedding. We completed the paperwork and were given the envelope containing the details of the dinner. The letter basically informs you of the time allocated for your sitting and an offer to upgrade to a la Carter with a credit being applied to the final bill for the dinner already paid as part of the deal. |The porter carried our bags to Yangarra which is a room on the third floor facing the rear of the hotel overlooking nearby roofs.|The porter then took the time to explain the WiFi and the facilities in the the superbly designed and decorated room.|At around 7pm We went down to the restaurant area and were asked where we would like to sit, it wasn’t very busy. We chose a seat by the window where another couple were sitting nearby. |The waiter offered us tap water and brought bread and olive oil/balsamic. As our booking allowed us dinner we were given the Fixe Pre Menu which was inside the a la carte menu, the fixed menu was perfectly acceptable but we decided to treat ourselves and ordered from the a la carte menu. We ordered our food and a bottle of wine which we enjoyed immensely (See pictures), we paid the bill which I presumed was correct.|As the weather was so horrible we retired to the bar and started to work our way through the cocktail menu. We never had a bad cocktail and we tried a few. They also have Heineken on draught and if you ask the mixologist nicely they will pour for you.|We started going over our meal and tried to get the credit card receipt to match what we had for food and wine . We couldn’t reconcile so I approached the receptionist and ask her to investigate as it looked like we hadn’t received the credit promised and detailed in the letter we were given, the receptionist came back and agreed the bill didn’t look correct and my credit card had been refunded and we could sort it in the morning, we left it at that.|The room was bad bed were very comfortable and we awoke refreshed and ready for breakfast which was also included in the price. The breakfast was good with continental buffet style and the cooked breakfast was cooked to order.|At around about 11:00 checkout time we approached the receptionist and settled the dinner bill from the previous night which was £63.30 less that the first bill the previous night.|I said to the receptionist that I was not pleased that something like this could happen in a Hotel du Vin and she explained that it was a communication breakdown. I paid and we left and carried the bags to the Range Rover parked nearby.|It’s a great retreat but keep your receipts. More...

Beautiful room; extremely comfortable bed. The room was cold and there were no instructions on how to adjust the heat. And. I talked with them about this and o think that they are addressing: my hair dryer set off the fire alarm - for the entire hotel. I was mortified and didn’t use it again but my hair looked awful. The alarm went off again later that night (not my fault that time) at 11:30 p.m. so needs addressing. More...

This 46 room hotel occupies a prime site on the scores with sea views and a short walk to the golf courses. Its gone upmarket since it was the golf hotel many years ago and is refurbished and decorated to a high standard with many cosy nooks and crannies and attentive friendly staff. Standard rooms are a little small with atmospheric lighting but comfy beds ,walk inn deluge showers, charged mini bar,tea and coffee facilities the latter being a fancy expresso machine. There is however lack of hooks for drying wet gear and the coat hangers do not come out of the small wardrobe. The lack of a loo brush is a mistake made by many of this type of hotel||Food is fresh and excellent although there was asurprising lack of fresh fruit and local rolls at breakfast we would return even at 128 pounds double bnb More...

We booked to have Sunday lunch at Hotel Du Vin but a few days before decided that we'd treat ourselves to an overnight stay. It was a great decision! The reception staff were very welcoming and friendly, the room exceeded our expectations in space, facilities and view. It also had the largest and most comfortable bed we'd ever slept in. Sunday lunch is a great, leisurely experience here: delicious soup, a huge selection of meats, fish, cheeses and salads from the market table, perfectly cooked main dishes (roast beef and lamb for us). Creme brulee is so good it will be tough to choose any other dessert in future. Bistro staff are friendly and attentive without being obstrusive, which is just perfect. After a great night's sleep we had a fantastic breakfast (so much choice!) and were set up for a walk around St Andrews. Thoroughly recommended. More...

Went to St Andrews for an overnight stay with my other half. The hotel was in a central location opposite the beach. The hotel has stunning views of the beach. The bedroom and bathroom were clean and obviously well maintained. ||My only complaint is that the room was slightly too warm for me but I hadn’t realised the heater was on and was quickly resolved by opening the windows. ||St Andrews itself is beautiful with lots to do for all. We took advantage of the Hotel du Vin’s special anniversary deal, which included dinner for two, bed and breakfast for £180, which we thought was very good value for the standard of our room, the quality of the wine and food. All good. The staff were all lovely, nothing was too much trouble. ||||Our room was great and we particularly liked the bathroom and shower. The sink was enormous! ||||My mattress however, did feel like it dipped slightly on the middle (the double bed was made up of two singles pushed together) but we slept well enough. Great choice of complimentary teas and coffees, biscuits etc, in the room, and the mini bar and snacks were not expensive.||||The Hotel bar is atmospheric but did smell a bit doggy on certain chairs as it is pet friendly. Restaurant was great, and breakfast in the morning was also fab. Loved the attention to detail - the cow milk jugs and the orange juice in little milk bottles that we used to be given in nursery school (when milk was free for school kids!)||||Very nice.
