Why should our clients choose you?
I've also, copy and pasted my FAQ's :)
WHATS YOUR MISSION?
MY MISSION FOR YOUR WEDDING DAY IS SIMPLE: I WANT YOU TO RELAX AND HAVE THE BEST, MOST FUN DAY OF YOUR LIFE, TRUSTING ME TO CAPTURE ALL THE MAGIC.
MY JOB IS TO DOCUMENT YOUR WEDDING DAY, THROUGH NATURAL, RELAXED AND CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHY. WITH MY UNOBTRUSIVE AND ARTISTIC STYLE, YOUR WEDDING IMAGES WILL BE A MIX OF CANDID IMAGES WITH FINE ART DETAILS.
WHAT ARE YOUR RATES?
Wedding Photography packages start at £1,300 for 2018. We offer three packages from Essential with everything you need for a gorgeous Gallery Set. The Memento with some added bonus’s, of extra time, Prints, and a higher minimum of images. Then there’s the Spoil Yourself with everything covered! Please see attached the Package guide.
ARE THERE ADDITIONAL TRAVEL COSTS?
Not within a 70 mile radius of OX28 5GP. I try and ensure that all travel costs are factored in. However, should a wedding exceed 70 Miles then I will book local budget accommodation to ensure I am not travelling home tired and unsafe. Please see below regarding destination weddings.
HOW LONG WILL YOU STAY AT MY WEDDING?
My packages differ slightly. However, each package is designed to give you the minimum of 9 Hours coverage with a ‘dinner break’ during the guests sit down meal. This ensures that I am present from the Bridal Prep, through to the First Dance. I will always try my best to get some shapes being thrown on the dance floor!
WOULD YOU PHOTOGRAPH OUR DESTINATION WEDDING?
My second passion in life is travel, and I would be over the moon to come along. The additional costs involved are basic responsible travel and accommodation, plus expenses. However, get in touch and we can have a chat about this. In 2017 I was fortunate enough to travel to New Zealand and Mexico for weddings, and Paris for an engagement shoot.
I HATE POSING FOR PICTURES, WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST?
I hate posing too! Well, I can take a selfie of myself!
Don’t worry about this… although, I like to do some posed pictures with you, I will not make you feel uncomfortable. The ‘posed’ looking images are usually far from posed, and we’ve worked naturally together to create something beautiful. The Couple shoot included within your photography packages are designed for you to get to know me, and feel relaxed for your wedding day.
HOW LONG AFTER CAN WE SEE THE IMAGES OF OUR WEDDING? AND HOW MANY?
6 weeks. However, I try to work quicker. 6 Weeks is an average wedding photographers schedule, this is to give us time to complete all those other jobs, and see our families too (well sometimes we see our families!). But, we always want to deliver as early as we can, as its super exciting to receive your wedding pictures! A Personalised USB will follow in the post after the gallery is uploaded.
A minimum of 280 – 350 depending on the package.
DO YOU OFFER A WEDDING ALBUM/ PRINTS?
Yes. Please ask me about this, as I am currently reviewing suppliers. Currently I use Folio, who are the leaders in UK Wedding folios, albums and imaging. The Spoil yourself package has a wedding album built into the current price.
CAN FRIENDS AND FAMILY BUY IMAGES?
Absolutely. Please ask for 2018 prices. As above I am reviewing my suppliers.
DO YOU OFFER BESPOKE PACKAGES?
I do, and I am happy to discuss this with you. Although I don’t offer half day packages on my package list, but I am happy to have a chat regarding your wedding. Plus, if you are having a weekend event, please get in touch about your ideas and we can talk about a personalised bespoke package to suit your needs.
I NOTICE THAT YOU SHOOT A LOT OF ‘SECOND PHOTOGRAPHY’ WORK, WHAT IS THAT?
Second ‘shooting’ as we call it, is a fantastic way for photographers of all levels of experience and professionalism to work with other photographers to either learn, develop or fill a gap in the diary.
I have been second shooting for 4 years now, and I love it! You get to meet amazing couples, and visit locations you’ve never been to, plus you can be a bit more creative as time is on your side. All second shooting work is professional, and treated no less important than my own booking.
As Photographers with respect for one another, we tag the main photographer within our social media work. You'll notice I work with particular people a bit... thats because we're great friends!
CAN WE HAVE A SECOND PHOTOGRAPHER AT OUR WEDDING, HOW WILL WE PERSONALLY BENEFIT FROM THIS?
Yes you can! At £250 on top of the Essential or Memento Package you’ll get a second skilled professional photographer. The Spoil Yourself package includes this.
A Second photographer is an additional pair of professional hands on your wedding day. They will see things from a different prospective, and will capture something, that maybe I missed whilst getting those group photographs done!
The Second Photographer will start at 11am, and will begin with Groom Prep, and will finish approximately 7pm around about the first dance. I always ensure my photographers are professional, friendly and creative!
HOW MUCH TIME DO WE NEED FOR GROUP PICTURES AND OUR PORTRAITS? AND DO WE NEED B&G PORTRAITS?
I would say, for a whole wedding party picture, followed by approx. 6-10 family pictures you’re looking at 30-45 minutes. Family Group pictures always take longer than you realise! Auntie Barb has nipped to the loo, Uncle Mike is at the bar getting the round in, and bridesmaid Joyce's heels are sinking in the grass.
…and B&G portraits… In my opinion, yes!
I always say a minimum of 15 minutes, but for beautiful relaxed images 45-60 minutes. It really depends on the plan put together by you, with your wedding venue/s and your photographer. My first ever B&G wasn't keen on the idea, and I had to drag them away... I have since found out from the Brides Brother that these pictures are scatter around their homes walls.
We can stay at the Church, the reception, or we can have a drive somewhere. These can be quirky too! If your wedding is in the middle of a city, then there are countless options! In the countryside, well, we have it easy as everywhere is beautiful!!
We can talk about this closer to your wedding!
WHAT IS A ‘FIRST LOOK’?
Have you heard of ‘First Look Wedding Photography’? This is a great way to do something different and new, by meeting your bride/groom for a first look before the ceremony.
You would have the opportunity for a private get together before the ceremony, just the two of you (and me of course!). Some couples find it takes away all the nerves of the ceremony. You would need to allow yourself 1 hour before the ceremony, and we would find a lovely meeting place. Then you can decide if you waned B&G portraits later.
WOULD YOU PHOTOGRAPH OUR ELOPEMENT?
That would be huge pleasure!
Tell me all about it!
ARE YOU LGBTQ FRIENDLY?
Your day is no different to any other wedding… Love is love.
DO YOU WORK WITH OR OFFER A VIDEOGRAPHY SERVICE
Yes... I work with a couple of videographers, however I do not offer my own Videography service (Maybe one day!). One who will supply a highlight reel of your day, and one whole will film your whole day and will talk to you directly about cost, products and delivery. These packages are not available directly through my website. However, I am happy to talk to you about what you're looking for, before I pop you through to the correct person.
WHAT IS A BOOKING FEE?
A Booking fee pays for the date of your wedding. Most photographers charge a booking fee, this ensures both parties are covered in the event of cancellation or the contract being ended.
As a wedding photographer, we book our work 8+ months in advance, and should a client cancel with only a few months to the wedding date, it is unlikely that the date will be filled by a full wedding package. Therefore, the booking fee covers a loss of earnings.
WHAT IS COPYRIGHT, CAN I HAVE IT?
Copyright is a law that protects original works of authorship. A work of authorship includes literary, written, dramatic, artistic, musicaland certain other types of works which include photography. Copyright attaches as soon as the original work is created, and applies to both published and unpublished works.
SO, IF I DON'T GET COPYRIGHT, WHAT DO I GET?
Once a wedding is photographed, and created, a photographer will often give a print release. A print release is different in that it gives someone permission to reproduce my images for their own personal use. Personal use is the key term here. If a client wanted to make prints, canvases, albums, t-shirts, etc, they are more than welcome to do that for themselves and their entire family. Commercial use is however not permitted. Should a vendor from your wedding want to use the images, they should be directed to me.
CAN I HAVE THE RAW's?
Firstly, do you know what a RAW file is? a RAW file cannot be read and opened as a printable image within everyday programs. A raw file is the image as seen by the camera's sensor. Think of it like unprocessed film. Rather than letting the camera process the image for you, turning it into a JPEG image, shooting in raw allows you to process the image to your liking. https://techterms.com/definition/camera_raw
A RAW file is like a wedding cake in pieces yet to be assembled. The ingredients are there, baked and ready to finish. However, its not finished, its not polished and doesn't look like the pictures you saw when you ordered the cake.
So in answer to, Can I have the RAW's, the answer will be a no. I don't want to give you the ingredients, and ask you to make the cake, I want to make it for you, and thats why you booked me.
