I experienced years of of anxiety and depressive "flare ups," due to low self esteem, low self worth and self doubt. These flare ups resulted in me spending the whole weekend in bed because I was in pain from head to toe, despite taking strong prescription tablets. Through CBT I was able to recognise my triggers and implemented coping strategies, which helped me enormously. Yet, I felt that no matter what I did, I could not break free from my patterns of behaviour, which left me confused and frustrated.
I explained to my Osteopath that my aches and pains were worse when I experienced emotional dis-ease in my life. He mentioned a connection between the mind and body and recommended a book; The Saboteur Within.
It was a light bulb moment for me and I knew that I wanted to understand and change this part of me....cue Danny.
After my first Skype session, I felt a positive change...honestly, it was instant! Within the hour my physical pain had disappeared and I no longer felt anxious or low. I remember smiling from ear to ear and noticed a change in my posture. In work the next day people noticed a change and paid compliments. My family and friends noticed too. It is important to note that this positive change in my behaviour has remained.
Unlike, therapy you do not need to discuss the emotional traumas of the past. Try as I might, I am no longer able to make myself feel awful when I think about previously distressing events, or an outdated belief as to who I am. It is extremely freeing!
In my sessions with Danny we have tackled negative thought patterns that were effecting all areas of my life. Furthermore, I set new life goals and I am delighted to say that I am taking positive steps in reaching them. To no longer feel plagued by negative believes, or have the capability to be able to torture myself regarding the past, is truly wonderful. My life has changed for the better.
If my story resonates with you, then I urge you book a session with Danny and see for yourself what improvements you will experience.

Bloomin heck! I've never had a massage like it! Powerful, effective really does describe it best. Neil listened and really worked with what i told him about me and how I wanted to feel physically and emotionally. I was lost in relaxation and before I knew it- Aches relieved, movement gained and able to focus on my exams. If you are choosing a therapist I would absolutely recommend Neil and will definitely be going back again.

I went to see Victoria as I was in a bad place and everything seemed to be going wrong around me. Even after the first session I felt happier, more confident and generally more positive about things. I had my 5th session today and I feel like a different person, glass is now half full, things are going better and I feel that without her I wouldn’t have go through what has been the hardest time in my life. Thanks you Victoria, you helped me so much and were genuinely there for me. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I went to see Chris for help with performance anxiety which was affecting my work as a semi-pro musician. I was actually quite sceptical and it was a last desperate attempt to get help. He is a lovely chap, with a calming presence about him, which seems key to his success. He is completely honest and knows his craft so well, he won't pretend to be able to achieve the impossible, but in my case he knew he could help.He spent considerable time explaining how the process worked and by the time I was 'put under' I just knew that it was going to help. His methods include a system of feedback which confirms to him that he is getting through, and as soon as the session was over, I knew that he had helped me without even picking up my guitar. He also gave me some tips on self-hypnosis which helped with insomnia, an unexpected bonus.I couldn't have hoped for better and I highly recommend Chris.

I am passionate about using proven techniques taken from counselling, NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching in a practical, no-nonsense way. I believe my job is to get to know you and how your mind works so that I can tailor the way I work to fit you and your goals. Everybody is different, and I'm here to help you make lasting changes to your life. I have spent the last several years helping clients to overcome a huge range of problems and change their lives for the better. Whatever it is you're struggling with, it's highly likely I've helped many people in similar boats to overcome their problems and I would love to do the same for you. Take advantage of my "Straight Forward Guarantee": If, at the end of your first session, you feel that I'm not the right person to help you (for whatever reason!) then please don't pay, we'll simply call it an extended consultation. It is really important that you feel confident in and comfortable with your therapist, so this guarantee removes the risk of finding out if I'm the right person to help you.
I am privileged to have a job where I get to work directly with people who have a real desire to improve something about their lives. Some of my clients are going through extremely tough times, others just have one annoying problem they'd like to move past. Either way, when I am working with you, your needs and your goals are my only priority. The moment when clients start to see that they really can move past their problems is probably my biggest professional joy.
The chance to use the skills I have developed over more than 15 years of experience, education and training to work directly with people who want to make a change was always extremely appealing.
I knew that there was an opportunity to show that hypnotherapy and talking therapies in general are not 'alternative', and that they are an effective way of making life improvements regardless of how well life is already going. In other words, you don't go to the gym because your leg fell off, so why would you wait for your mental health to be poor to work on yourself?
I pride myself on making the services I offer accessible, honest, personal and gimmick-free. I tailor my support specifically to your needs, taking elements of counselling, NLP, hypnotherapy and coaching to work with you in a way that suits your mindset and goals.
I offer a "Straight Forward Guarantee" - If, at the end of your first session, you feel that I'm not the right person to help you (for whatever reason!) then please don't pay, and we'll call it an extended consultation!
Since the start of the pandemic I have moved my business entirely online. I've been delighted to find that I can offer just as personal and effective a service online, with some added benefits! Many of my clients like the flexibility and convenience of being able to access therapy at home. It has also meant that I am now able to work with clients throughout the UK rather than just locally.
All services are now online, in the comfort of your own home.
How much do Therapists cost?
This will vary according to the level of experience and training that the therapist holds.
This will depend on where you live, what level of training your therapist has and what they specialise in (whether they are a counsellor, psychotherapist or psychologist) and also how many years of working experience they have.
Your professional therapist will be able to advise you on the full range of therapies available and will be able to help you select the best one to suit your needs. They will also be able to answer any questions you may have. Use Bark to get free quotes and find a trusted therapist today.
How do I find the right Therapist?
You need to devote some time to finding the right therapist as the connection you have with your therapist is essential. You need someone who you can trust, someone you feel comfortable talking to about difficult subjects and intimate secrets, someone who will be a partner in your recovery. Therapy will not be effective unless you have this bond, so take some time in the beginning to find the right person.
It is worth talking to a few potential therapists and asking questions. Therapists also have special areas of focus, such as depression or eating disorders. For some issues, such as trauma or PTSD, seeing a specialist is absolutely essential.
How many sessions of Therapy will I need?
Everyone’s treatment is different. How long your therapy lasts depends on many factors.
You may be offered a single session of counselling, a short course of sessions over a few weeks or months or a longer course that lasts for several months or years.
It can take a number of sessions before you start to see progress but you should gradually start to feel better with the help and support of your trusted Bark therapist.
What should I look for in a Therapist?
Professional counsellor training takes three to five years and can be a diploma or degree level. Qualification requires a minimum number of client hours acquired through a work placement.
You may also want to ask for testimonials of their recent work. You could also look at their profile page on Bark and Bark can show you reviews from past customers who have used their therapy.
What are the benefits of Therapy?
Therapy has repeatedly and consistently helped patients with a whole host of issues. It can help with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety or an eating disorder. Or it can help with an upsetting physical health condition such as infertility, a difficult life event such as a bereavement or a relationship breakdown. It can also be used to tackle difficult emotions such as low self-esteem, anger or sexual identity issues. Therapists also offer couples therapy. Therapists can also help with anxiety issues deriving from the coronavirus.
Can I get a Therapist online?
Absolutely! Many therapists offer sessions over the phone or through an online video chat platform, so you can have a session from the comfort of your own home - all you need is a strong internet connection and you're good to go.
