My name is HELEN HARROLD; I am a qualified maths teacher with over 20 years of experience. I teach children from year 4 to GCSE and adults. I have a proven track record of helping students achieve and exceed their potential at GCSE and have helped many students to become confident mathematicians. Whilst preparing students for exams- SATs and GCSEs I consolidate what they are doing in school, explain problem areas, work through past papers, and build maths confidence.

We would definitely recommend Helen for maths tuition. She has been amazing with our daughter, and her confidence in maths has grown so much because of her lessons with Helen. Helen is patient, calm and explains things very clearly. She also sends regular updates on our daughters progress which is so helpful.

Tom is a great tutor that seems to have a lot of experience teaching. He is very knowledgeable in his subject area and knows exactly what type of questions tend to come up in exams. He is helping me with Maths and Further Maths right now and I'm learning a lot from him each session. Great lesson planning, great communication and a great tutor overall. Highly recommend!

Danielle has brought Learning alive for our 8 year old daughter who struggles at school. Her bright and bubbly personality combined with her carefully planned, fun and interactive lessons have enabled our daughter to finally enjoy Maths and see success in her abilities. From the first session, Danielle really understood the needs of our daughter and as a result, she feels happy and confident in the sessions. I highly recommend Danielle as a tutor especially if your child lacks confidence in their abilities. Catherine

As a dyslexic mum who constantly struggled to help and support my sons needs I had rang everyone trying to get some support, it was Sophie who said yes.
One magical hour a week he gets to learn at a level and speed right for him and because it is fun he doesn't think of it as learning.
I really can't thank her enough for the time and effort she spends on us.

I love being able to see growth & development in the students I work with. Everyone has a base level they begin at & everyone will be able to improve on that base level. I am lucky to be able to see the improvements on a weekly basis.
One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring is seeing that moment when a subject or topic 'clicks' with the student & they are able to develop their own thinking to get the answer.
I felt I was able to offer something different to students in need to additional support & assistance. I like to build a rapport with my students, find some common ground, some goals to work towards.
I am able to adapt my tutoring style to suit the student.
Coming from a background in Mechanical Engineering, I like to think I can adapt to any situation to provide the help and assistance required. Whilst I focus on Maths primarily, my engineering background enables me to offer an alternative point-of-view. I also have a good working knowledge of other subjects such as Physics, Chemistry & English
Yes, in these difficult times I have adapted my tutoring to work remotely where possible. I typically use Zoom or Microsoft Teams for collaborative sessions, but I am open to using other 'meeting' platforms as required.
I have not carried out any face-to-face sessions since the beginning of Lockdown 1.
At the moment, I am only able to meet students outside, which can be somewhat haphazard depending on the weather.
I am looking forward to restrictions being further lifted to allow face-to-face sessions to resume indoors again.
