Lauren Curley
I am a university student currently studying mathematics. I have had experience tutoring students up to A-Level, and love to help others to understand the subject to aid them in their examinations. My fee is very flexible, and I operate by working with the student to focus on what they struggle with the most, in order to ratify confusion and ensure they feel more confident with maths calculations before any exams.

LearnLogicTutoring is my own personal tutoring platform. I use it to reach out to more students and to connect with more like-minded tutors. I'm starting to put together some video tutorial/lessons for certain topics. Through the website I can share these videos to the students. Other tutors involved can also share their own resources. Working together and staying connected in this way, we can be even more effective in helping our students succeed.
I absolutely love Maths, there is no question about that. But there is nothing more rewarding than sharing my passion with others and watching them discover their own passion for it.
My greatest achievement: A few years ago, I had a student that was predicted an E (level 2). They where frustrated with Maths at school and had very little incentive to even try.
I started off by tutoring him Algebra. I often find that with Algebra, when a student doesn't understand it they hate it more than anything. But when they do understand what it's all about and how to do it, it can be great fun!
This is where he discovered his passion. By the end he was solving equations that he never thought he'd even attempt. From then onwards, every topic became more of a fun challenge for him rather than boring revision. He achieved an A* (level 9) and went on to do A-Level Mathematics. In summary, he went from E to A* in just 4 months before his exams.
Helping a student unlock their passion for Mathematics in this way, is something that drives me to be the best tutor I can be. But whether the student discovers their passion or not, I'll always make sure that they get the grade they expected, or better in their exams. This also gives me a great sense of reward. I've never had a student that failed and I plan to keep it that way!
I found my passion for tutoring at the age of 17 during my A-levels. A started as a just an assistant for group sessions of 3-5 students. The main tutor is was a university maths professor and an incredible maths tutor. After learning from the best, from the age of 19 I started to find my own tutoring clients and became very successful in face to face tuition.
I've always been self-employed. I also have my own company in Social Media Marketing where I am a 50-50 partner. But tutoring Mathematics is my true passion. Recently I created this platform (LearnLogicTutoring) as a way to find more students and more like-minded tutors. I plan to use it as a way for all the tutors and students to stay connected and for tutors to share resources and ideas with one another. My goal is to create an entire community, dedicated to teaching and learning Mathematics at all levels!
I have 8+ years of experience, I am a very passionate tutor and I know how to cater to the students needs. I've been mentored by a true expert and university professor with over 50 years of experience in tutoring and teaching Mathematics. I've never had a student that didn't get the grade they where aiming for, or higher!
Further to this, I've built up resources and lesson plans for every topic in the GCSE syllabus. I know exactly how to teach both the instrumental (quick method) and the relational (logical understanding) of each topic. In my lessons I plan to teach both the relational and instrumental methods, with good time left for practice, so that the student not only knows exactly what to do, but they understand what they are doing.
I started tutoring online 2 years ago before it became essential due to covid. I spend about half my time in Lisbon, Portugal and the other half in the UK. When I am back in the UK, if possible I do a some face to face lessons with my students to touch base. But primarily I tutor online.
I use a pen pad and online whiteboard for online lessons and all of my resources are online too. I can proudly say that my online lessons have been just as successful as my face to face lessons.
I tutor online so everyone is safe. If you need to touch base with a few face to face lessons, I can come to you when the time is right and use a face mask.
