What do you love most about your job?

Making children happy! (Though of course I do events for adults too.) I love a challenge, I love learning new designs and the opportunity to do it in front of a live crowd. It gives me a lot of job satisfaction.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I was persuaded to do a charity event having never done balloon modelling for the public before. This was a great success and as a result I was then asked to do a children's birthday party. This led onto another booking and since then I have never stopped working - all purely by word of mouth!

Why should our clients choose you?

I am reliable and deliver on my promises.

Unlike a lot of other balloon modellers, I practice speed twisting. This means that I can twist balloons really fast having spent a long time having practiced these techniques without damaging the high quality which makes my balloons the best.

When you invest in me, you are investing in someone who invests in himself. I am always looking for opportunities to learn and grow my skills, whether this means attending conferences, buying DVDs or going to Balloon Jams. I am not just a balloon twister, I am a balloon entertainer and come up with balloon creations to wow the crowds!

Take us through your show – what can we expect?

My magic show is suitable for children aged 8 and under and includes a puppet which the younger children seem to love! The show is interactive and I try to involve the children with my act as much as possible, because if they are involved I believe they will be enjoying the show all the more.

How long have you been interested in magic?

I have been interested in magic all my life! I am a member of WAM - Watford Association of Magicians so that I can learn and exchange ideas with other magicians and also pick up new tricks.

Magicians won’t give much away - that’s the nature of their job after all! But one thing you should be certain of when hiring a magician is whether they’ll be worth your money. The best way to assess your magician’s ability and skill is by viewing their website or Bark profile. Most magicians will have video examples of their tricks to showcase the best they have to offer. Always remember to check their reviews, as genuine customers will give an honest assessment of their work. It’s quick and simple to read reviews of professionals on Bark - just head over to their Bark profile and have a read!

As magicians work with the general public every day, it’s important that they have insurance to cover them in the case that anything goes wrong. It’s a good idea to ask for their insurance details before committing to a booking so that you can rest assured that you’ll be safe in their hands.

As the name suggests, a close-up magician will perform a variety of tricks up close - just inches away from their audience. This adds to the allure and surprise as you’ll be left wondering how the magician managed to pull the trick off literally in front of your eyes. Close-up magicians usually circulate around the room to perform tricks on smaller groups, making for an immersive experience.
