‘19 Certificate of Excellence

I am a professional business, career and life coach. I specialise in working with people who want to achieve a better balance between work success and happiness, feeling less overwhelmed and more in control. I work with my clients on a wide range of areas, but the most common are: Reducing work-related stress and anxiety Making a career change Improving work life balance Overcoming Imposter Syndrome Improving time management and managing boundaries more successfully Developing more confidence and/or resilience at work Learning to switch off so they sleep better I work face to face from my office in North West Leicestershire (right on the border of Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire) as well as by phone or online, and can offer both daytime and evening coaching sessions. I aim to be as flexible as I can, and all the coaching work I undertake is entirely bespoke - you are never shoe-horned into a one-size-fits-all programme, because we each have a unique set of circumstances, a unique personality, unique strengths and weaknesses and unique needs.

What do you love most about your job?

Honestly? All of it!

From meeting and getting to know new people (I'm innately curious!) to, of course, experiencing the moment when it's obvious that one of my clients has realised or done something that is going to make a huge difference to them and their happiness.

The huge variety of things that can be never ceases to amaze and inspire me - and actually, I often find I am as inspired by my clients as they are by me.

Sometimes the change is difficult and complex, and clients need support to keep motivated and stay resilient. Other times it's about helping someone work out what NOT to do anymore, and while that often seems difficult, the answers can be deceptively simple and straightforward once the right piece of information has been uncovered.

Some of my clients have really tough decisions to make or are overwhelmed and confused by the possibilities they are considering - they sometimes describe it as being like having a head full of knitting that they need to untangle, but they can't even find the end to get started - and watching as they manage to untangle the mess and then put it all back together in a way that means they know what to do is really rewarding.

What inspired you to start your own business?

I had a long career in marketing and business management, including a couple of years running someone else's business, but had long held a desire to work for myself. When my own personal balance between work and life tipped too far in the wrong direction, and I realised it was time to make a change, I decided the time was right to take the plunge....and Life Atlas Coaching was born!

My "why" (and why I decided to retrain to become a coach) is to help women make decisions about their career, business or life in general that make them happy - and to help them develop the confidence and know-how to actually to do those things. This matters to me, because I believe making decisions and doing things that are personally right for us (rather than doing what everyone else thinks we should do, or what we feel the pressure to do!) is ultimately the best possible example we can set for the next generation - our children and grandchildren - if we want them to grow into happy, confident adults themselves.

Why should our clients choose you?

It's important to know that I'm practical, honest, straight-talking and down to earth - I aim to be both supportive and challenging, so you get the best results you can. My clients also say I'm easy to talk to, friendly, positive and energetic. I'm definitely not a spiritual type life coach, and neither will you get any hints of manifestation, law of attraction etc when you work with me.

I am a member of the ICF (international coaching federation) and am currently completing the final part of my PG Cert in Personal and Business Coaching. I use many different approaches in my coaching - it's definitely not a one-size-fits all thing after all - and will choose the most appropriate exercises, tools and approaches for you and your needs.
