This led to an honours degree in History and Cultural History from the University of Aberdeen. A highlight of my academic career was winning the Cultural History prize for my dissertation 'Happy Homes? Cultural Questions about Changing Family Values in Aberdeenshire, 1914-2008.' After 15 years working in a family business, I now use my genealogy skills full-time to help clients find their forebears.
